it makes life easy and maybe then you prefer to tweak materials or even migrate to easier or even harde/more aqqurate render engines .
about KT, I've prepared a fast start you can find it over net (KT fat start 4 architects), and hope you like it
Cracked it.
The objects which were behaving in the oposite way had been mirrored using scale -1. For some reason this makes the section planes act in reverse.

I didn't get much more time on this so couldn't let the renders run for long but the plants etc helped.

It was rendered in Kerkythea using MLT.
I had all the point lights set to produce soft shadows so not sure why they came out so harsh.
Maybe I should be using spots rather than point lights or maybe it's something I'm missing.
Agree with point about empty room - I just threw it together to practice rendering so didn't spend too long on it.

So far so good. I would edit out the pass through the column. Also, try making the animation a bit smoother. The pauses seem really long after a bit.
