nice tower, serrot.
I know what you mean with the resemblance to a robot.
this is straight SketchUp export, I guess?
Yes it is.

self-explanatory topic. i have just stumbled on this new rendering plugin for SUp (Win and Mac). it seems as easy to use as podium. has anyone tried his/her hand at it?
I just checked out the site thanks to the link provided by Frederik and it is none other than IMSI....so could this be "Turbosketch" with a different name???
My experience with IMSI.
Terrible customer service.
Tech support...what tech support?, emails are not replied to and just try calling the support line, what a joke.
I posted my dissatisfaction about their lack of good service in different forum and got replies back from members who had encountered the same situation with IMSI.

Serrot, Well this looks like Pro work to me. I quite like
the massing. Just a very small point! I notice that the
ramp to the car parking takes off at fairly steep angle from
the footpath. I suggest that you first have a section of
ramp at a shallower angle. This will ensure that cars will
not be inclined to leave their exhausts behind themI would be interested in seeing any plan sketches that you
may have in relation to this design, even rough ups!Mike
Here's a very rough sketch of the interior spaces.
Let me know what you think

Thank you for the compliment and i do agree the driveway came out a bit steep.
I did have a rough idea, as i was playing with the shapes, of what the floor plan would look like so i'm going to take you up on it and sketch an interior layout.

Interesting design serrot and I really like what I see.
Have you designed these for a project or just for fun?
For fun, i'm not a pro or someone in the field, i just love anything related to design and architecture.
A design of a row of townhouses for a city block...only exterior shots, i never got around to designing the interior spaces.
thanks for the offer but i'm going to install podium on my mac soon so this will be one
of the first ones i will render.
No particular scale cause it started out as just fun play with shapes.
I did reduce the ground floor height to ten ft and that re scaled the entire building.
I will post one with bryce or someone like him.
This started out with a fix flat concrete canopy, then it evolved into the photovoltaic cell canopy that would swivel to follow the sun.
I do not know if it would be possible to build such a structure and the canopy would probably have to be segmented to prevent a wing effect with the wind.
The problem with the daytime shadows using Mac version was known by the folks that designed Turbosketch but i did not see any mention of it at my time of purchase on the IMSI site.
The patch to repair that problem just came out recently a year after i purchased my mac version but i found a blog of other mac users, going back before i purchased my software, asking when the repair patch was coming out.
I've decided to check out the new Mac version of Podium.
I
I purchased Turbosketch Mac version last year, the first activation code they gave me was incorrect, later i had the unwelcome surprise to find out that the Mac version did not render daytime shadows.
I tried tech support several times both online and by phone...email questions are not replied to and getting someone from tech support on the phone was next to impossible.
I did get in contact with one of their tech support guys who gave me a email address to send him a copy of my installer log....the email address was invalid.
Turbosketch no more.
Any advise on what render software you would recommend to purchase that works well with sketchup and mac?
My os is Mac 0sx 10.4
Thanks, bytor, i'm having problems with my rendering program but i will give it a try when i
get it going again.
Is Cheetah3d for Mac compatible with SU ???
Does anyone in the forum has had any experience with this rendering software?
Was thinking about something mediterranean in feel when i drew this one.
