OK, I can use that technique next time. Right now, it is going well. I have finished the front (just basic shape).

RE: How to deform ovalish object
In the last version of the file I uploded, there is the change. I did deleted the middle strip, and from the half I made component. According the frames from video, this fits:
See this:
It's exiting!

RE: How to deform ovalish object
I need to create the blue sphere, but I cannot success. The best result I got is the sphere on right! I cannot to get the edges to be exactly on the axis. I created 12x16 sphere, but as you can see, there is always one extra face on the axis! Please help.
The face modeling in SU looks prety simple, if you go according the frames from the video.
Pilou, that is the Pen Tool + as Gayieus recommended to me. See your link before. It is after the post when I said, I head dream about SU, that I was drawing soft lines directly. The shortcuts are S like soften edges, H like hidden edges... Guide, Weld, Edge, Line ...

RE: How to deform ovalish object
I have this as point of start. I have changed the position of components (was incorrect) and height (radius is 23 cm , 0,23m ), I will rescale when the head will be done.
Well, here we go. I will start according the video frames.

True, I don't know why I did not think about that (scale one direction). It should work. I'll test tomorrow.

RE: How to deform ovalish object
Or better I should take the ovalish head first and scale it to make rounded head... But how to fix that. Sizes are 0,23x0,21m and I want 0,23x0,23. But with tape I can only change the scale with ratio 1:1...

RE: How to deform ovalish object
I rotated head and removed the sides because they were deformed. I try to close the head now but when I draw the circle so it does not fit. Do you have idea why and what to do with it?

Q: When I try to rotate arms, should I rotate it outside or inside model?
I see my model's arms are not exactly in same (mirrored) position. If it's component themselves : rotate it outside the component else all other component (mirrored) will rotate also!
Sure I did so. But it is rotation like in y1=60°; y2=-60°; x1=13°; x2=-13°; and so ... it is mirrored...
So when I started to rotate the arm, so I had to rotate 1st arm and then the 2nd arm. So there is result that they are not same angle. Because I did not check the angle, when I started to do it. Now it looks like it is better then it was before.

RE: How to deform ovalish object
You are right, I have seen this and they use mirroring function.

RE: How to deform ovalish object
Yeah, that is exactly that case as I mention here:
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=47752That when I rotated the arms (outside of component), they were not correct (same angles), but I did not see that. Even now after correction, they are not on 100% same angles. I would like to see some plugin for situation like this.

RE: [REQ] Information box to simplify work
Not always the opposite side or object is the same. They are similar and can have some common shapes. Do you say that the woman does use SU incorrectly?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYTE6oCa_GQ&feature=relmfu
I believe that she had some reason why she did not separate the head in two. I believe that modeling 3D face is not beginners issue. -

RE: How to deform ovalish object
I've got it.
Any suggestions how to correct shoulders muscles, up on collar bone? So called posterior lateral triangle of Trapezius muscle? This is the muscle which leads from top of shoulder up to neck.
Also I tried the Cross Section tool to add a circle bellow neck from Tgi3D, but it writes to me: Cannot resolve cross section. This is after I reversed the neck faces. I don't know if it is the cause, because this should not have effect. I click just outside the neck. Try.
Question:
Do you know some video tutorial how to model head from the sphere or oval? This head does not look good at all. I don't need to model face, but just the main proportions of the head.

The color. Why the neck has blue color and the body is white?

[REQ] Information box to simplify work
Yesterday when I have seen this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYTE6oCa_GQ&feature=relmfu
I got an idea to simplify work. I have seen that the woman did some actions on one side of face, but the actions was the same as the action that she did on the other side of face. Then I have seen next video when a guy made a car, and he did construction about car wheel and he did the same things on both side, but did not take care about exactly same values for both sides...My idea is to use tool to analyze both sides of the area which we want to work in. And to display information about the entity on the opposite side. And possibly to add a feature to change the opposite item in the mirror way.
My idea was like to use plane tool to separate the area on two halves. They need not to be identical like components are. The tool for analysis should find pairs of objects which are related. Like in my image in the mirror, the tool should find out that my eye and eye in the mirror are related.
Then, when you would start to edit one entity, you should see either in information box or in status bar the properties of the opposite entity. You could use option to say what you want to see, but in general, you want to see angle, length, scale or such basic measurements. So when you change your element, you can see the original value by refering to the opposite entity, or if you already change the opposite entity and you want to change the actual entity, you would again, refer to the opposite entity information. Possibly yet more simple would be to have tool to set the entity in the same way as the opposite entity, but in mirror way.

RE: How to deform ovalish object
I had a dream about SU during I slept (Yes, I work during my sleep!). It was that I could draw soft edges or smooth edges directly. I realized, that I don't know if is it possible? Acually I don't know much about soft edges, I've just look for help and found Soft edges dialog box:
http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114940
But where can I found this box? I had seen it somewhere days ago.Next thing I have in my brain now is that, it could be good if we could have a mode for interference for segments. For example, I want to find some segment and must click it before I can resize/rescale it. Would not be much better to click directly on the ends of segment? Just idea.
I did not yet check the last plugin.
Here is the file:

RE: How to deform ovalish object
It works, but I have problem with the neck. I have did a mistake when I scaled a neck and saved it. The neck had torned off. I needed to rescale it, but it did not connect with the body already. How to connect it? I cannot draw on it until it is connected back.

RE: How to deform ovalish object
That plugin is really cool. I've seen face editing. Cool. Thanks.

RE: How to deform ovalish object
OK, but how can I change the object? Is there some plugin which can correct the object if I had draw a circle there?
Similar situation - here I need to add circles to the body to create neck and shoulders shape:
