    • RE: How to deform ovalish object

No worries, I understand the Outliner, groups and components. I use it and I know that when I would like to create e.g. heart, or stomach, I would need to create group. That is not problem. I asked not on group, but on object. But I should say entity. So my question is about this. We have the ovalish body entity. And there in the bottom of the oval, I need to add one or more circle to extend the oval. So when I will have more circles in the hips of body, I can better model it. But I don't want to put hips in group, it is one entity, whole body is one entity with hips.

So I don't need to add new groups. There is everything already. I need only change the shape -> and that means to add the details. So for hips right now, I need to add the circle one or two*. But I don't want to create new circle which is out of the body structure.

      • There is a picture above by 9:59 pm. I need to add it under the yellow frame.

    • RE: How to deform ovalish object

I've just found that I can zoom in the body and simply select the bottom of the ovalish body. With Fredo scale tool I had discreased the bottom onto normal level. But I need to extend the the hips and to add there circles to make it cylinder. This is question how to add new entities into existing object.

Quite, one man would say, it must be difficult to build such model, but now I see that with SU, it can be super easy!

The idea with selecting objects from inside the body is good. But I found that better is to select the circle around body or just a part of arc and to change its scale... Or rather to say you did guide me this way. Also sometimes just rotating of some line can help to get better shape (this I did with breasts together with scale).

So the only thing I should do is to insert guide point and then to make component?

So you also don't have the feature about which Gayieus spoke? Maybe it is part of SU Pro only?

The bottom of the oval is finished with these lines, going to center. Is there a way how to capture the center point and move it towards my face? So that all the lines would change its angle...

It starts to be really a fun! I've modeled breasts and now I'd like to model hips. I have this:

I would need to add one circle there is it possible? I mean to extend it from the upper circle of hips towards down - like cylinder.

Scale is not possible to use. You will not change belly and neck with a scale tool:

    • How to deform ovalish object

I found 3D object of human body in components and wanted to do so deformation on its body parts.

It's called Human Body model in 3D warehouse.

I had tried the LLS tool Control points. But I found this plugin 1) very slow 2) very bad contolable ... Often I wait till the red frame appears, but even if I have it and click to drag, so then it either creates new Control Point or it does not do what I do.

But I think if is it possible to deform the body without creating new group. It seems to me better then to create new object with Control Points which is, deformed and out of order. For example the belly is too fat. So I need to push it back. But I cannot because the LSS CP does not change the original object.

Smoove tool from Sandbox, would even move whole body. Would like to try this kind of 3D modeling but LSS seems useless here.

How does the Query work? Should I select circle and then run Query? And then make component?

Yes, something similar - if you mean the previous topic. In the last post I speak about 3 strings, like you have a phone cable, so there are 3 strings. Maybe I do not choose right words, English is not my native language.

But I think, I should try something. Fredo Scale has twisting tool. But I did not succeed to twist the tubes (paralel ones). I made a group of 4 pipes and tried to twist them. Should it work?

Edit: Once I suceed just a little bit. I exploded the group and selected all tubes. Then I twisted them, but just a little bit. Now I cannot succeed nor a bit. But I doubt that this tool would twist more times, like 9999°

      Edit2:
So it is a kind of twist which is not possible to repeat more times. The object either de-twist itself or it get strange kind of twist, not like the wires of cable...

    • RE: How to make a spool/spiral

I solved that. I had to create texture. I searched before but found none textures. All are with the damn watermarks or not symmetrical for SU use. So had to create one. Not simple job but I had a luck.

Note: The diameter is circle, not like real twisted object. If would like to do twisted object with 3 strings or so... hmmm. That is idea. But would be better if somebody would do plugin for this. You would just add three or more lines to one bunch. Than you would make it to be tube, add a texture... And then just twist them...

    • RE: How to make a spool/spiral

That damn good tutorial. I'm glad I understand it. But will want to learn more later, how to create more beautiful shapes.

Ok, and If I created a tube from this spiral line, could I make similar lines on the surface of the tube? So it will look that the segments / springs are twisted.

Yet I did not find how to remove the spaces which are created between segments when you apply lines2tubes plugin. Do you know how to solve this? When you have the the spiral I want it to be tube.

    • How to make a spool/spiral

I need a tip how to do this.

I want to create just a very simple spiral, with 3 or 4 winds/wraps. I am not interested about the holder itself. Maybe is there some plugin for creating spirals?

I have seen this tutorial but I would like to use the spiral starting at point 0:38

It looks like sinus but how to draw this sinus (it is 3D sinus, not 2D)? The next step of scaling and coping of the "sinus" looks simply.

      Sure. I use sandbox.

      Arc - Radius 0,20m ; segments 24

      I have the Utilities on.

When you make a copy of any object using Move [or Rotate] by pressing the Ctrl key modifier, and then type /n or *n to make more copies, either between the original and the copy, or added on after the copy, the normal parlance is that what is made is called an 'array'... you make a 'linear array' with Move, or a 'radial array' with Rotate...
The possibility that the exact word 'array' was perhaps missing from some earlier explanations about making multiple copies does not detract from its efficacy in any way... 😒

I don't remember any description of you in the past. But if it would be there, I doubt I would be able to grasp it in the times of my very beginnings (too much information goes out of my head). I will watch the array tutorial if the right time will come.

Does the circle midpoint interference work if I have made a component of the pylon? I cannot find the center point no, after I made component of the pylon. And now I want to copy the pylon same way as I did before, but I have selected component, not pylon in component... I hove over the edge of circle outside and then try to find center point.

I succeed to copy the circles with the array. Thanks guys.

When you move/drag entity somewhere out of your actual screen, is it possible to make the mouse cursor to navigate aside, when I move on the screen edge? I have seen now that when I moved to right edge of screen, so it started to move/navigate me right (to the area which was out of my screen). But I cannot repeat this action. I usually navigate with mouse scroll and press and hold scroll button+shift (cursor hand to move screen). Which is a bit complicated, but if SU has simpler technique, that you just wait till the screen move itself, that would be good to know how to do it.

It's too much information at once, I am not able to proceed it to my brain. I fail with first sentence. Do you say, that I should select circle, take move tool and hover above edge, but no center point appears to me.

      I originally understood
