Thanks Earthmover. I do have Shape Bender, which is a wonderful plugin. It's just that I'm a little thick and have to re-learn how to make it work each time. Was hoping Sam had something because his plugins are always very easy to use. I am testing his Comp String plugin right now.

RE: [Plugin] Component Array (Updated 27-Mar-2014)
Sam,
I need to make a chain and sproket for a piece of machinery similar to a bicycle chain and sproket assembly. Which one of your plugins is most suitable for this? I have a chain link made into a component. Thank You

RE: A new home for SketchUp
Just heard the news and read all of the previous posts. Thanks John and the other members of the Sketchup team for coming on this forum and easing some of the concerns many of us had/have. I have literally dropped everything (spare time wise) since discovering Sketchup one year ago and have been learning how to use it efficiently. My heart was in my throat when I first read the news.
Sketchup is the best thing since sliced bread.
It is the missing link I have yearned for. Visualization is made easy with Sketchup and that is something that's been needed since the Cave Man days. Please, Please Trimble, don't make us go back to the cave man days. Remove that ball & chain (Google Earth?) from John and the team and let them go full steam ahead. Best Wishes Guys!!!

Chris,
I am splitting the model up into smaller pieces now and it works much better. Still learning. The code TIG gave me works great.

Looks like it is time for you to go Pro, Mr. Raineysky.
Peter
HaHa. I'm itching to so it wouldn't take much. Best I should wait for the next version though. My first project is nearing the end and it will be time to package it. That's when I'll know what my excact wishes really are regarding presentation software intergration.
PS: Thanks for the links TIG

RE: Export Layout to PowerPoint
I'm with LandsArchitect. The export to Powerpoint option would be the only push I would need to go Pro. Those two programs combined would be a powerful presentation machine.

RE: HouseBuilder - Need to modify the imperial version, uses inc
I have asked Mr. Didier for an imperial version of Housebuilder. He said he would do it when time permits.

RE: File Size Ruby
Thanks guys and Thank You TIG for the code. I want to make it visable on my screen so I don't go crazy when adding bolts, etc. that may not be necessary to get the visual point across.

File Size Ruby
I have made some very big models recently because of adding a lot of detail. It seems Sketchup's Model Infosettings are in bytes and kilobytes which mean very little to me. It would be nice to see the file size in Megabytes with a click without having to call up the online calculator and transfer the numbers.
Is there a ruby that will do that? I have checked but haven't found it. The reason the files are getting so big is that I am modeling industrial process loops and the equipment that runs it. Thanks

Hello sdmitch, just wanted to thank you for such a great plugin! Would you please consider continuous handrails for u-shaped stairs in your next version?
I second that request. Many plugins or native tools can be used for handrails. But I haven't found a way yet to make them look really good without a whole lot of "tweaking". Mine are round handrails. The model I'm working on uses Sdmitch tools heavily. Love 'em. Project Beam is an absolute gift from the heavens, and I hope it gets even better.

RE: Toolbar for Toolbars
@jim said:
UI.toolbar("Construction Line Tool").show
UI.toolbar("Construction Line Tool").hide
But even if the plugin is not installed, this method creates a toolbar entry in the View > Toolbars menu.
So the problem for a script is knowing which toolbars are in use. You can get a list of native Toolbar names (
UI.toolbar_names
) but there is not a good way to get a list of Ruby toolbars.I have a dialog that uses a text file to create a list of installed toolbars and toggle them on/off, but I'm still working on a good way to identify the Ruby toolbar names.
Jim,
Was wondering if you made any progress with this. It would be great to have a custom toolbar for rubies. For example the BZ Toolbar contains many tools and I only use one of them. It takes up a lot of real estate. Thanks

Please keep, "re-inventing the wheel". Your plugins are great.
