Seems to me that a script like this that made Hip Roofs would be very valuable to builders. I've seen a bunch of the roof plugins but none that make hip roof rafters. Don't even know if it's possible and as you can probably tell, I'm no carpenter.

Still wishing for the imperial version of this one too πŸ˜„

I too would like to know more about this plugin. Are the components in Imperial Units? What kind of components are available? I need imperial piping, motors, valves, transmitters, etc...Below is an example of process piping I did last week. It would have been much easier to do with this plugin.

      Sam,

I really don't know what the process is. Got these pictures off of the internet. I'm guessing you would start in the middle with large mats and add the smaller ones as needed to get the "best fit."

This picture shows the overall dimensions of the mats. They interlock. The surface dimensions are:

      7' x 13'
      7' x 6'6"

Yes Sam. I am looking for the total number of whole mats of each size. In the photo you can see that the mats are offset a bit around the perimeter.

      Thank You,

      Paul

    • [Request] Best Fit Plugin

I have two different sized mats that need to fit (best fit) on the irregular shape in the picture. The mat dimensions are:

      7' x 13'
      7' x 6'6"

From this I need to figure how many of each size mat will be needed and the total sq/ft of each sized mat. I looked through the plugins and didn't find any that would quite do this. Maybe I missed it though.

      Thank You,

      Paul

      Dezmo,

This plugin looks very useful. I hope you will find the time to develop it further. Can imperial units be used?

      Thanks,

If you want a guideline as shown on the left in Massimo's example, you could do it this way.

Wow Dave!!! Always learning something from you to make working with Sketchup easier and faster. Thank You πŸ‘
