I think you want something that optimizes the size of a box that will contain other boxes - rather like a sheet cutting optimizer to ensure minimal waste of a sheet of material cut into your sub-pieces... It wouldn't be that difficult IF the sub-shapes were 'boxes' - it they're not then it could use their bounding boxes but that wouldn't always be efficient. There's no built in 'clash-detection'... Is the optimization to be on total volume or plan size of the containing box ? Perhaps someone has some embryonic tools ?

A combination of Erase-Coplanar-Edges and the Remove-Inner-Faces, then Erase-Coplanar-Edges again gets rid of most internal faces and edges BUT it can't remove inner faces that are subdivided and not coplanar or have a single-faced edge... I thought about getting the all_connected face/edge and vertices and using the shape's topology - Euler Factor - v-e+f=2 etc to see if that helped - but so far not much use. If you remove the coplanar-edges first it does return 2 for simple solids + 1 for every internal cell making face...

Bingo ! Je viens de recevoir le livre à mon boulot (merci patron !) ... Bon ben la première impression est vraiment positive. Des trucs et des astuces, pas forcément des révélations, mais c'est rassurant de voir que les autres aussi se frottent aux mêmes limites et s'en accommodent ! mettre des mots sur les problèmes et ils deviennent plus acceptables. Iterate through model.definitions, if defn.group? then add if to a groups array and then iterate through groups and rename each group to match its group.layer.name, keep a list of all group names as you go [start by making a list of the groups' names and then remove old name and add new name as you go groups]. It a group name exists then increment it [tip: name="name#1";name=name.next if groupnames.include?(name)] - several groups could be on one layer and should them get named name#1,name#2,name#3 etc...

Oui, celui-ci est un "extrude" c'est à dire que les "sections" restent parallèlles entre-elles et ne s'orientent pas par rapport aux courbes! Pour usages particuliers seulement! Le follow-me lui oriente les sections mais dérape dans les virages en 3D (hélicoïdes) Il faut le "Follow-me and Keep" pour les non dérapages Il faut le "Simple-Loft" quand on veut des sections de courbes multiples sur une même courbe
