Plugins by Sub menu by Authors

Does it possible to have that?
Chris Fullmer has something like that: "Chris Fullmer Tools"
It's more easy for the user than a big list!
As plugs are anywhere on the list

I was thinking about that today - thinking of putting all mine into a 'TIGtools' sub-folder ?

Yes!
Go for it, TIG!

I think its a great way to organize them. But I can say that it is quite an undertaking. It involves adding new code to each and every plugin that the author has written. And for someone as prolific as TIG, that could take weeks
Plus, everyone will need to re-download all their plugins. But I think its worth the hassle,
Chris

Yes, and the other side of this is that the user will be selecting tools based on the author's name, rather than the operation desired. Therefore requiring intimate knowledge of where the tool is stashed. "Let's see, I think I will open the Bur Suite, or Fredo Suite, or Fullmer Suite and see what's in there..." (no rancor intended)
A better classification of course, would be grouping the tools according to their similarities in function or their related ways of utilizing the core program (or whatever it is that ruby scripts address/ call/ invoke) or their related ways of mutating geometry.Best Wishes, and please excuse me if I left any deserving Ruby Titan's name out of the babble above.

I am all for this also!!! We know who the author is when we download it and if we know were to find them on the UI [as with Chris F's tools] it would be much cleaner....

And if someone like Tig or Didier Bur or ...
...have so much plugs they can split in TIG Tools 1, TIG Tools 2, or TIG 2D, Tig 3D or TIG Tools with Sub levels menu?@unknownuser said:

Yes but generally seems you know the name of the conceptor of the plug
Or better a plug manager that each user can manage as he wants
So no problem of rewriting anything -

Moved the thread to the Developer's forum. We have reorganized so that the Plugin section is only a list of plugins you can download and use.
