This is really great, I love how easy it is now to install and update plugins! Really a great piece of work!

However, the updating functions in "My Plugins" doesn't seem to work. I saw today that there was a new version of Fredo6's Bezier Spline and still the Window was empty, when I activated "check for updates". I have to wait until other plugins get updated in order to find out whether this also applies to them. I'm running Sketchup 2013 Free version on Windows 7 64bit and I just noticed that apparently I don't have Internet Explorer installed (must have uninstalled it some time but forgot about it). But the plugin still works, except for the update function.

    • RE: [Plugin] Material Renamer

This plugin appears to be buggy for me... it seems to be applied as soon as Sketchup has started, so when I open a file by double-clicking it in explorer, the materials get renamed immediately. The same happens when I activate the plugin via the Sketchucation Plugin Store. Will leave it deactivated until the cause is found...

    • RE: [Req] Pipe along Path with decreasing diameter

Yes I have, since there is never a point at the end, which is what I want, there is always still a circle and I definitely have to draw the end manually. Apparently, there is no such plugin that really does what I want, but the ones that are mentioned here are quite close.

Just wanted to add to my previous post, that I have since discovered that ThruPaint and SketchUV really work well together. For example, if I paint a texture in Quadface mode with ThruPaint it will be distorted when I export the model to Unity, as I wrote before. However, when I use SketchUV to triangulate the faces after applying the texture with ThruPaint, the mapping gets preserved and the export works perfectly. So thanks a lot to the creators of both plugins, they complete each other wonderfully.

This completes my Sketchup. Have not tried every function but it seems the cylindrical mapping is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much this is worth paying for!

Just noticed there is a new version on Smustard (1.7.1). What is new in this version? Is the suggestion from above included?

I really love this plugin, it is probably the one I use most often, just because it makes texturing so much more quick and easy than with the native tool. However, the QuadMesh-Mode does not work when exporting the meshes to other programs, because the textures get distorted. First I had this problem with Walkabout3D and now it happens when I export objects to Unity engine with Playup Tools. Is this due to limitations in Sketchup or could this be fixed somehow? Might this work better with SketchUV? Haven't tried but I think I am going to purchase it, just noticed the price drop.

edit: It worked with SketchUV. Still this plugin is amazing.

    • RE: [Req] Pipe along Path with decreasing diameter

Ah, thank you, I already downloaded Tapermaker, but I haven't tried it out yet. Thanks for showing me that it can do what I want. Will try it out soon! But as you wrote, 0 is not allowed as an end value, so I still will have to draw the end manually. I really don't want any face at the end, no matter how small. But this seems to be very close to what I want.

But is it actually impossible to make such a plugin or has just nobody done it yet?

    • RE: [Req] Pipe along Path with decreasing diameter

Thank you for your suggestions so far. I already use curviloft, although not specifically for this purpose. It would be great to have a plugin that really goes to a point in the end, but if there is no plugin like this, I will have to stick to doing it manually.

    • [Req] Pipe along Path with decreasing diameter

I often use the plugin Pipe along Path for a lot of different tasks, most of the time with an inside diameter of 0. I have also been using it for creating branches for trees and such, and what bothered me was that I had to adjust every junction manually in order to achieve a natural decrease of diameter as well as hand draw the pointy end. So I thought it would be nice to have a plugin similar to Pipe along Path with the option of entering both a start and end diameter, and the width of the "pipe" would gradually increase or decrease from the first value to the second. It would be important that these values could also be 0, so that it automatically creates a pointy end.

Would this be possible to do? Or is there already a plugin that does that, but I don't know or have forgotten about it?

Cool, these ships remind me of old space simulation games like Freespace... especially love the textures, looks really good!

Great Plugin! Would have wished for this back in the days of my small 17'' screen... Now with my new 23'' FullHD screen this is not as useful as ist would have been otherwise, but still very nice, for example for exporting images in order to get a better view range.

      Works especially great with shortcuts!

I can absolutely recommend ThruPaint. I don't use the native paint tool any more since I have this plugin. Makes texturing so much easier and faster.

This is really great, thank you for fulfilling my request!

It works great, just how I wanted it to. [[Just one small thing: It would be perfect to me if the "sample material" tool could also adopt the scale of the sampled material.
I hope I don't bother you with my daydreams... πŸ˜’]] edit: never mind, it works perfectly! πŸ‘

Yes I tried to do what your ExtrudeEdgesByRails appears to do. Will try it in a minute! I realize that the edges are not perfect for that purpose, but it's just an example file.

      edit: It works. Thank you!

As Jeff asked, post the SKP file where it doesn't work.

I'm sorry I was in a hurry when I wrote my last reply and I was unable to look into the forums for the last few days. I have attached a sample file with explaining notes. However, this appears to happen with every flat surface, at least the ones I tried.

What I didn't mention is that I want to use it for a flat surface. With contours that would generate a bent surface it works for me, too. But I would like to use it to divide a flat surface in many small faces that match the contours. In the preview it looks just the way I want it but when trying to generate it doesn't work.

I know this is still beta but I think the included features are supposed to work in the current version (sorry if I am wrong). However, the option to generate the junction edges of the skinning tool does not work for me. It only generates the first one and then does nothing any more, although the cursor still shows the hourglass symbol. Generating intermediate edges works fine, however. Can you confirm this problem? And if yes, when will this be fixed?

Note you can also change the material definition (i.e. the dimensions).

Of course you can but often enough I have a model where I wish to use the same material in different scales and having an option to choose a different scale before applying a material would be great!
