Might be worth to look on this too

Note: I am not saying that the monetary system we have is good for people in general. But the money-as-debt document do have some serious errors.

RE: Lock toolbars
@a4chitect said:
there is a little trick to help you, once you are happy with your toolbar arrangement, close sketchup (the UI gets saved internally). anytime your screen gets resized, or messed up, or your toolbars change - don't close sketchup, open another instance of sketchup - this one opens with the original UI. then close both windows but make sure that you close the clean and tidy @last

this way your clean UI gets saved as last overwriting the messy one (since all instances of sketchup share one UI setting)
Thanks for the tip. This has been one major annoyance.

RE: New Rendering Contest
@al hart said:
The easiest way is to uninstall it and reinstall it again. When you installed it, it asked for a SU version.
It is interesting to learn that some people are sticking with SU 6. It means we will have to be careful not to make incompatible. for instance, we supply some components for light bulbs. We have to be careful to keep them at SU 6 level.
Have to say I am one of those. At the moment I just did not find any reason to upgrade to 7 Pro. SU 6 Pro does give me all the pro features I do need (exports). I do use SU 7 free, time to time.

RE: [Plugin]SketchyPhysics3 alpha.
Great news. Hope you could keep SU6 support with final version.

Another script still in development can do followme and keep the profile from rolling.
Left part of the first image is followme ,right part is follow_me_and_keep .
In the second image ,the Long Corridor (exclude columns) is built by follow_me_and_keep after one time running.A must have tool!

Going with that info, its likely to be the lights issue notareal mentioned, as podium uses the kerkythea engine for rendering.
Not any more AFAIK but please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Well... The used version must still use, as the result looks exactly the same as seen in Kerkythea, if the light source intersects the geometry. I think this is unique to KT. Anyhow, try to move you lights a bit, drop them 2".

RE: INDIGO STUDY INDOOR SCENE
Looks good. Thanks for sharing the scene. I think it will find good use.

RE: [Plugin] 1001bit Tools - Architectural tools for SketchUp
It's just a work flow issue. Personally I do like as clean UI as possible, but if some tools are used frequently I prefer to have them available instantly tough a toolbar.
-
RE: Need help with renders
Looks similar to a Kerkythea render when one has managed to place a light source so that it does intersect the geometry. Imagine what will happen in real life if you try to push a light pulp inside the drywall panel.
Anyhow, most likely your problem is fixed if you move lights a bit.
Turn on soft shadows too

Interesting tool set. Planning to create a toolbar for it?

RE: Bush vs Shoe
Just do a google search with Britney Sex Video site:code.google.com (better not to click those links, although they should be sanitised now). From my professional view there is no flaw in McAfee report. Sure they do promote they business by publishing found abuses, but are they one who should be blamed of it? Grab your self enough tinfoil.

Luring surfer to site that do "social engineering attack" ie. gets user to download something nasty, is fairly easy, sex is one of most searched thing in web. But as seen browsers do have security holes, so just visit at such site can be dangerous. Also Cross-Site Request Forgery Attacks or Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks are possible.
Here is some deeper reading (sorry McAffe avertlabs blog

Notareal, you are highly unlikely to find dangerous sites through adsense links. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=94153
Are you sure? Here is a simple sample how google can be used to lure to dangerous site, naturally this wont affect if user do know risk... but there are plenty of those who don't know.

You two do realise that by repeating the words "hot arab women" that you are reinforcing the bias of the ads on this page? And the more you mention hot arab women, the more ads containing the terms hot, or arab, or women will appear. I think it would be a good idea not to mention any of those words...hot or arab or women...any more.

Shame, the aim was a bit too much off. Next time use laser guided shoes.

Hi NOTAREAL,
I have removed the links you showed on the Re: Bush vs Shoe topic.
SketchUcation pays for its Hosting with Adsense. Please do not post links like this again.
Thanks for your co-operation.
Mike
Huh... I never thought that posting a tip about safer web surfing practices, specially at the time when zero day IE attack is free around net, will got censored. Thanks.
Sure I understand your worries... but honestly I care more about security. If that is too much, you are free to remove my account - guaranteed that I wont bother you anymore.Merry X-mas, see your next year - hopefully.

A Ruby method that will give us a real UVW coordinates of a projected texture, so exporters could use a single, original texture, instead of say 200 small textures of a photo mapped terrain.

I am glad to see SU7 finally. It almost starts to feel like Google missed the opportunity and ruby writes do offer more value for SU6, when comparing to upgrade cost to SU7.
Well... perhaps I am too hasty, better wait and see for the proper release of new features or next patch... Early news do not made me feel rushing.
