Any positive news about scene complexity? Does SU7 handle more polygons than before?

Sorry cannot help with that. But it would be great if there is a way to find out it.

There is some really nice trees in KT model library, look at KT download area and model selection in KT forums.

RE: UV Tools Teaser ;)
Whaat, Google have to do a lot improvement next SU, if they want to compete with your plugins!

RE: Microsoft XP SP3 released.
If you have fully patched SP2, I don't know if there really hurry - wait another month and there should be enough SP3 bugs fixed that it can be installed safely. Well... that is what I am doing

Biased: Podium (the free version has an output resolution limit)
Unbiased: Indigo
There's Kerkythea too (both biased and unbiased). Little harder too use.So there is no easy one? I have tried Podium but it renders way too small pics, if remember right.
EDIT: And now it quits whole sketchup while it renders my model.Kerkythea is fairly easy and free, try it out by yourself. Just grab Getting Started - KT2008 Echo. Kerkythea.net forum is good place to get real answers Don't forget to download latest SU2KT beta!

RE: Exporters
For my understanding there is nothing in 3. PROPRIETARY RIGHTS that can stop you to write a exporter. Ruby is a feature of SU, using it is no modifying or reverse engineering. Besides, in meny countries, like Finland, it is allowed to modify or what ever you want to to, unless you try to break DRM or copy protection, so program works like you want. Also usually a agreement that is not available to see at the time of purchase is considered invalid.
Just keep in mind that some formats like .max are undocumented, but for example .obj is well documented. Only catch can be in a license of the format on what you try to create a converter, if you use they own resource kit.

Those are render presets... Never used these LR01-04 presets myself...
To be honest I'm not exactly sure what they're used for, but if I remember correct, they're there to help 3dsMax users for some layered render techniques...Those are useful with post processing, for example if you want to add a controlled bloom.

RE: Microsoft XP SP3 released.
Sorry to hear of your problems. I assume that installation did a backup, so there should be a possibility for recovery with installation CD and recovery console. If that is too complicated task then it might be easier to add another HD and do a new XP installation on that. Then you add your failed HD as a secondary disk and recover your data.
I was a bit worried that linked file might be a RC, not a final release. It's true that SP3 is out, but only for MSDN. What I have hear of SP3 is that there is some minor bugs, but there should not be any nasty ones... but these incidents to certainly tell that one should not hurry with the SP3. Normally with a major patch like this, it's always good to wait a week or two, to be sure that there are no nasty bug, that was missed in beta / RC, lurking in code.

RE: UV Mapper?
That kind of UV mapping scrip will be a hit if done for SU. Honestly, I think Blender will be just a bit too much just for UV mapping of SU models.

We've been waiting for this one for a while. It's been said (by beta testers) that SP3 speeds up XP(amongst other things), I have to add though that a lot of rumours have made their rounds.
You can download it directly from the Microsoft website - XP SP3.
Are you sure that is not a RC? I was in a impression that XP SP3 was released to TechNet subscribers, others will get it at 4/29 via Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center.

RE: Isaac Drone....They are out there...
Funny stuff. You could use KT instancing to made authentically looking crop circles.
