Need help with renders
-
Hello,
Just started using sketchup to design my basement bar/theater/lounge and my renders come out horrible. Any idea why? Any help is greatly appreciated! -
Helps to know what render engine you use.

Bit of a stab in the dark, but it looks like it could be a moire issue. Could you post up the floor texture if you get a chance?

Looks similar to a Kerkythea render when one has managed to place a light source so that it does intersect the geometry. Imagine what will happen in real life if you try to push a light pulp inside the drywall panel.
Anyhow, most likely your problem is fixed if you move lights a bit.
Turn on soft shadows too

I used the wood floor that's integrated in Sketchup 7. Hope that helps.

Going with that info, its likely to be the lights issue notareal mentioned, as podium uses the kerkythea engine for rendering.

Well... The used version must still use, as the result looks exactly the same as seen in Kerkythea, if the light source intersects the geometry. I think this is unique to KT. Anyhow, try to move you lights a bit, drop them 2".

Mike music, could you please post this at Podium forum. There are several problems with your render. If you could also make sure you post your file as well.

I based it on hints given before the new Podium version came out - but of course talking based on memories is something completely different from talking based on knowledge. -
