    • RE: LayOut AutoSave appears not to be working

I noticed this on my mac also got to where I had to save often due to bug splats.Strange that LO is longer there you did look in User/Library right. My Mac crashed Friday night after a 3 week job (first pay job)was nearly finished with no backup. A computer guy is working on the hard drive as I write keeping faith. And as as I say that I think the only safe backup would be in the Cloud or removable disk.

    • RE: Need help with plumbing and HVAC

I'll see what I can get as far as codes. Just need to show the duct work in LO and drains and water lines.

I used Krisidious symbols for the electrical. Thanks much to him.

In a set of plans submitted to my local building permit office the mechanical is not required for a residential permit although I know the plumbing is inspected once the plumber is done. That being said these are going to be used for modular homes and the state permit needed does require them.

    • Need help with plumbing and HVAC

I'm doing a contractor friend a set of plans for local building dept. and needs more than the usual a HVAC and plumbing plan and I've never done one before. A search of the internet wasn't much help besides there are some real pros here that I bet that could help also being a Premium Member may we could set up a discussion room where I could share the .skp or LO file Here's a screen shot very simple plan.

      Thanks Walt

    • RE: How do I open an SKM file on a Mac?

Sally the icon you see is a unix icon, Mac uses this for anything it can't read otherwise. The .zip file should have 28 .skm files with unix icon. You need to make a new folder in Materials and call it transparent leaves and unzip to that folder. You have to Quit SU and restart for it to see them.

Edson, thanks for kicking this thread off. I see that we have Nick here to advise also TIG to keep us on the 'straight and narrow' 😉

I'd like to suggest that some kind of a simple house model is agreed / worked on so that we can all try out the various processes and compare notes. It might make life easier all around.

      What do you all think?

Well seems no one wanted to take Mayor Mike up on his suggestion so I'll lay myself out here. The model was done using Housebuilder plugin, section cut face and Vali Architect instant roof plugin (free). In using the HB plugin it puts the layered skin on Layer0_skin so I put all the wall studs on a separate layer called stud walls to control visibility. I haven't textured this model or put moldings in it yet. I use a different model of the same house with textures and vegetation for rendering purpose.
