I learnt today that nobody can tell me why Painters always wear white.....
So you can notice if you've gotten paint on yourself, incase you rub it on anything else

So is that chair 3D or photo?
I can't help you but I'd like to get the end product
They didn't say anything, although I saw some disappointed looks
Just thought I'd update this, the meeting apparently went well, planning completely passed, and very nice comments from planning/council representatives!
I would have thought the graphics CE3 can produce itself are "better" than UDK, but then again a lot of people bake the lighting etc. which looks great in either

This is a nasty cool idea Mike.
If someone set these up at North American shopping malls it would give purpose to those nameless, drifting, lost males, attached to the mall benches (not to mention giving their wives plenty of time to shop).
Reminds me of something...

I realllyyy wish I had a decent workflow for getting stuff into ce3! videos like that make me jealous
How easy do you find it?
17!
I also like the realistic white paint texture you use
Interesting idea for sure.. I'll pass it on to my colleague who will be doing the actual presentation with council & client. I'm brand new here (17) so for now I'm strictly behind the scenes
Mike - Hmmm that's an idea, if I get the chance I may do that. Then again with this person's attitude I'm not sure how much good it will do! haha
Pbacot - The funny thing is, if I saw that stone wall in someone's vray render, I'd probably think "they need to get a more realistic texture on that.." How strange
Thanks zapwizard
David - Planning was actually passed for this job. Then a neighbour (the house to the left) disputed it, therefore now it's gone to the judgement of the council. At first she said it was due to height issues, loss of light etc. but she's now changed it to design and style issues. I'm glad she made that decision because I think she would have had a better chance with her initial argument!
All too often these days we don't get approval for absolutely no good reason though. It's just like they have to have their say for the sake of it!
Recently an end terrace house was going to have its gable end built up, and instead they forced it to be changed to a large side dormer..it now doesn't fit in at all and looks stupid.
More recently we were told by a planning officer that planning would 100% definitely be approved, and that the final paperwork would be through soon. We should have waited really but it was highly beneficial to the client to start ASAP so we did. Then quite a while later we were informed by the officer that his boss at the last minute over ruled him and the dormer would now be around 2meters smaller!
Anyway, rant over haha sort of hijacked my own thread there....
I never post anything in the Gallery because, well, I'm awful. But this was the first time I'd done something like this, and I found it quite interesting
A neighbor of a client is disputing planning approval, officially putting it down to design and style.
I printscreened a view of the area on google streetview, and used gimp to stitch in a screen capture of a sketchup model of the proposed roof.
Rubbish image because it's from a distance on streetview, but I had half hour to kill so thought why not!
jackpot.
I obviously would never have come across that on my own, so thanks massimo! problem solved
Thanks TIG! in particular for the blue grey one.. itll come in handy..
I want to find something higher res though as these will often be close up renders
Hi
as you may have gathered through some of my posts, I'm mainly interested in using SU for loft conversions, so I'm in desperate need of a hanging tile texture for external shots of dormers! I'm struggling to find anything
Also the new version of Lumion is coming out soon, with some aspects of it re-written, to give it more of a realistic style
I clicked this thread as I knew someone would comment on the thread title!
In my opinion it depends where you're from...Different communities use different words, if the word has lost all offensive meaning amongst those people I think it's fine. However using such slang online probably isn't a good idea!
Hey
just wondering if there's a proper way of doing this.
Say I had a 700 x 1000 roof window, and same sized rectangle cut out of my ceiling face, how can make it fit into that gap?
Thanks
Mike
