Got it now! Realised the box says email but wants your username
Glad it comes with sample scenes considering it's a beta. Should get a good test

RE: Keyshot 3
Yep definitely not for interiors, but great for product viz. Hadn't heard of hdr light studio either, nice

Keyshot 3
Just making this thread purely because I never see it mentioned here! Which is strange
I've tried it and really want to buy. Seems amazing for product viz, and has a sketchup plugin for 1 click export to keyshot
any users here? -
RE: NEW Raylectron v2, a photorealistic SketchUp render plugin.
I dont think the test was biased, although he obviously is more experienced with raylectron! To me twilight looked the best as it has a nice balance between the 2 (crisp/realism/warmth)
Cant do video can it? -
RE: NEW Raylectron v2, a photorealistic SketchUp render plugin.
Ill have another attempt tomorrow, was rushing today. One thing I hate about podium is the annoying light anomalies/patches. This seems to be at a similar difficulty level so if its better i may switch

RE: NEW Raylectron v2, a photorealistic SketchUp render plugin.
I tried it on a quick interior I'd made before. It has 4 small down lights. It lit the room fine but the ceiling itself was black? Or mostly black. Seemed like very hard shadows with very linear lighting, which I assume you can tweak but couldn't work out how

RE: NEW Raylectron v2, a photorealistic SketchUp render plugin.
Im surprised this has no replies?
Ill be trying this at work tomorrow. Its all down to render speed for me... -
RE: Shaderlight vs Maxwell
I don't use either, but shaderlight is biased and maxwell is unbiased. This basically means that maxwell will calculate the lighting much more realistically/accurately but will take longer to produce a clear/un-grainy image. Biased engines like shaderlight are quick but wont be as instantly realistic (then again if you know what you're doing you can get great images out of both)

RE: LumenRT 2 Released
I think something like an export video feature (such as in Lumion) would be good, so you get the option of having a fixed flythrough that is a nice resolution & has AA etc.
Edit* also artificial lights
Edit again* also can it make me bacon sandwiches every morning and run my baths? just realised I'm asking for a bit too much possibly

RE: LumenRT 2 Released
Livecubes are great, but for me hardly any clients would be able to run it nicely However great for in-house virtual product showrooms...

RE: Help making a car badge style logo
Ah right thanks for the tip. I'm a complete newbie with graphics so wouldn't even have known what to google! Now I can look into layer styles though.

RE: Help making a car badge style logo
Hey TIG,
sorry if I wasn't clear. I really just want a graphic. It's a new company and just want to give it a classy logo.
Who knows one day maybe we'll get badges made but that's not the issue at the moment.I have gimp but have only used it on a VERY light level to do the odd adjustment. Never for creating graphics from scratch.
The badge I have in mind is similar in quality to that third jaguar one I posted. Realistic and metallic but still "flat" and logo like. I'm not sure how I'd create an image in that realistic style in 2D

RE: Help making a car badge style logo
No I don't have PS And even if I died, I haven't had any more experience than a free trial so wouldn't be much use...
Hmm maybe I can get a nice even result with rendering. Do you have any tips for actually modeling it with SU?mike

Help making a car badge style logo
Hello,
I'm involved in a sliding wardrobe door company, and it's going well but we really need to get a decent brand image going.
We've decided we'd like the logo to be an emblem similar to a car badge.
I've looked on google images for ideas of visual style,
This is too unrealistic, too 2D etc. http://www.room39car.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/BMW_badge_logo.jpgIf I modeled and rendered it, I'm worried it'd look a bit too "physical" and end up looking like this:
http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/1415586/20990181/0/1303921410/BMW_82MM_New_3D_Version_With_2_Pins_High_Quality_Car_Badges_Car_Emblems.jpgReally a happy medium is something like this:
http://www.artcam.co.kr/artcampro/gallery-images/artcam/pro_jagbadge.jpgI'm just looking for any tips on how to create this, at the moment presuming sketchup would be involved.
Thanks in advance
Mike
