What to buy!

Hey all, I'm looking for advice on a post processing program!
I love modeling in sketchup, I use Kerkythea at the moment because its free, but I think im ready to purchase something with a little more power. There are so many programs out there today though.
I am by trade a Landscape Architect and always find it difficult to represent the landscape in a seamless non-repetitive way.Mainly I will be looking to produce renders of private work i.e. homes and gardens, possibly the occasional wetland.
I have been looking at Vue for the landscape, looks amazing but very expensive! I dont mind spending the money though if I will make it backAdvice appreciated,
Cheers,
Wyld

Thea?
It's KT on steroids, and if you know KT then Thea will be easy to pick up.

Super, I was looking on your website that's where I got the idea for vue, it looks like its a program for modeling of epic proportions though, maybe a little bit of overkill for the domestic landscape?
I will have a look at Thea.
How would you rate it against something like 3dsMAX, only because I used this in Uni, so it is something that I would be able to re teach myself quite fast also. -
3D max is essentially a modeling app, majority of Max users seem to choose Vray, however Thea also works with 3D Max, so you can use it with both SU and Max.
-
I would also consider Lumion. While Thea is an excellent rendering program, as a landscape architect, you will need a big amount of plants, too. Lumion is not cheap at all but if you consider that you also get hundreds of plants that you would need to purchase for any rendering app otherwise, IMO it pays for itself.
It is not the hyper-realistic category but has some extremely cool effects.
But try all, they all have free trial versions so you can decide later.

Also the new version of Lumion is coming out soon, with some aspects of it re-written, to give it more of a realistic style
