That will work as long as you're on a Mac. Chromecast functionality could be OS independent.

I have a similar issue. Tried to install VRay 1.6 on Mac w SU8 - SU crashed on open every time. Uninstalled everything, created a clean install of SU13, no plugins except VRay 1.6. I can create a new model no problem and it works, but when I try to open one of our SU8 models, I get the warning message about saving in SU13 blablabla and then the never ending spinning color wheel. Have to force quit SU and it happens on every model (tried 4 so far - size range from 25-50MB).

I just installed SU 2013 - to get a nice clean install, I deleted all previous SU folders on my Mac iOS 10.8.3, including the folder in the /application support that contains plugins and shortcuts. After the install of 2013, I wanted to copy my .plist shortcuts file back in the folder, but to my surprise there is no application support/sketchup/sketchup 2013 as mentioned in some posts I've found about this issue. I have tried to re-install, but no luck. Any ideas?

So I'm really interested in one of those machines, but I have a question about the video cards I hope someone can answer. Is there a considerable noticeable difference between the 660 and the 680 in plain sketchup, non-render use?

Ha... just figured it out... so....
When having this sort of licensing issue - in my case su briefly showed either a blue or red startup window and then crashed - hold down the shift key while starting su. You get to startup window - I got a message saying my max number of licenses were exceeded, even though I did not have any other computers running SU at the time. Appears that the license just went missing. I re-entered my license and SU pro is starting fine now... weird.

Arrgghhhh.. still crashing... It's definitely a license issue - if I install the free version I can run it fine. Emailed SU support and only response I've gotten was uninstall/reinstall which I've already done 5 times at least. Can anyone tell me where the SU license file is located at on the MAC?

@Dave - Both other computers are accessing the Internet but are not running Sketchup when this happens.

Having an issue with Sketchup Pro 8 (latest version) crashing on Mac OS 10.7.2. Started to happen out of nowhere. Did not install any new plugins. Tried all suggestions I found online, ie deleting all preference files, uninstalling and re-installing app (I did follow steps in help article I found twice - http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=40937. Still Sketchup crashes on start... Have a feeling it has something to do with licensing. I can start Layout fine and it will work with the license. Sketchup brings up the licensing startup window (sometimes red, sometimes blue) then crashes. Any suggestions anybody?

Oh... forgot to mention that it works fine on two other computers with same license

Just figured out... For those of you using a Logitech multi-button mouse... map the back or zoom buttom to "middle-click", you can orbit with that button, click back+ left click to pan and lets you keep the middle wheel for zoom - fastest way to navigate ever because you can orbit/pan/zoom at the same time!

Is there a way to use Revit *.rfa files in SU? Was hoping that there is a file conversion tool out there. I want to use components from a window manufacturer that are only offered in this file format.

I searched the forum for an answer to this with no luck. I'm using Sketchup on my office Mac and just installed it on my home computer also. I would like to store Component, Material & Style libraries, as well as keyboard shortcuts and template files in a certain location inside my Box folder, so it syncs up to the cloud and back down to my home computer to have everything in sync - same materials, components etc etc.. I have been able to do so with components but have no luck with the rest. Any ideas?
