RE: Tigweld or Sketchup 2026?
I find that ONE operation can be performed post weld, after that the line welded reverts. Talking about using extrude tools to create a face (A door skin for example). Possibly something to do with Sketchup like as not.

RE: Affinity Studio is Free
A lot seems to have changed but I am guessing it only seems that way.
All three apps in one? Not sure about that but the UI is different and will take a while to adapt from my own perspective.
Had a quick mooch and it seems to be as good as ever imho.

RE: Mod Garage
That is a common theme for most of us I believe. I go a bit cold when a model frustrates or I just lose motivation. Later I go on and try again.

RE: Photoreal setting in Sketchup 2026.
Thanks Dave, I tried searching on the Sketchup support site but apparently I do not have a right to see the results.

RE: Affinity Studio is Free
Another positive move in the digital world, might give a certain company food for thought.
I hope to have my pc reinstalled with this at some stage.

Photoreal setting in Sketchup 2026.
OK, enable them to see what was what. Tried to change back to the standard shaded textures and sky etc but not happeneing. When this happens the only way to correct the situation is to select the classic engine in graphics prefs and reboot. Then you can select the shaded textures without the photoreal background and the new graphics engine.

RE: Orgelf's works. second topic.
He is right though, something beyond "That which is seen".

RE: Trying the photoreal setting with Rayscaper.
Sorry, wanting to see how closely, or not, the photoreal mat setting in Sketchup can approximate to a render. Not too badly for folk who do not want the added complexity of a render program.
Approximating a studio might prove useful.
Curiosity alone.

View - Face Style - Photoreal Materials.

Trying the photoreal setting with Rayscaper.
As it say's, not tried the photoreal setting before so thought, "What might this do for Rayscaper?
Up to you to see what difference you can. The model is a redo of an oldie.

RE: 1932 Ford Model A Pickup Drop Hotrod
The spooks are gone... ? What the Freaky Friday etc.
Better call Scummy and Mouldy.

RE: 1932 Ford Model A Pickup Drop Hotrod
Not much, pretty sure they are repeats of the headlight glass/lens which comes out ok set as glass. Still some details to adjust and perhaps depict the fresnell effect on the lens but not much.
I cannot select the spooks either as I cannot see them no matter what I adjust in the drop down VIEW menu. -
RE: 1932 Ford Model A Pickup Drop Hotrod
Ta folks, rather weird artifacts which I cannot see in the model, the discs are not present in the model, UFO's?

RE: Ain't Sketchup to rhyme with the trends?
Looking to my own use, a combination of Sketchup and Blender looks to be the ideal way forwards. I just have to get through those first steps to grips with it. Visually, these programs just overwhelm me at the moment which is why I tend to reduce clutter on the screen and possibly why I cannot get on with video tut's.
Most of the video tut's I have tried to watch have the 'teacher' meandering around verbally, changing tac and all the while the cursor is 'waved' all over the screen.
