Hi Jim, essentially, yes what you described at the end of your reply is correct. I would like the ability to reorder and rename dynamic parameters of dynamic components, as well as all of their nested children parameters and so on. Regarding your previous question, a master template in this context is the way that I've been building my DCs to this point. I'll build a functioning component, and then save off each part so that I can create variants, and still have all the same parameters. So as an example, lets say I've built a window that cuts into a surface, and showcases a single hung window. I've been saving off the window child component, creating a casement version, and swapping then back and forth to ensure they work flawlessly, and minimize the file size of the component. I can attach an example when I get back to a computer. The fact I said I'd be needing to make constant revisions may be an exaggeration, but my view is this: I'll be overhauling the use of SketchUp in the office to a more standardized system, and as users begin to adopt DCs and they become more useful, I may need to add features that I did not plan out or set aside in the first roll out of DCs. Adding new features shouldn't be too difficult, but seeing as how the order of the exposed parameters is reliant on alphabetical order in the DC options dialog, I don't see any other way to re-order them other than either manually renaming all the params through parent and child level components, or coming up with something more clever. Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if anything isnt clear. Thanks! Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk

Matt, sorry for not replying till now. No, I don't think the naming would be an issue, just that the Xref itself may be a problem.

Hey guys, Just thought I'd report back. We got it resolved. Our IT department installed without running it as an administrator, so we just had to remove and reinstall as admin. Hope that helps if anyone has troubles.

@adamb said: It sounds what you need is an Asset Management System... I'll have to do some more investigation. I knew GitHub probably wouldn't have been quite right, and I appreciate the feedback. On to do more research. I might just use a private collection (or several) on 3DWH like was suggested earlier until I figure something out.

@pcmoor Thanks! These might take me some time to go through and understand, and certainly I'll likely have some questions for you, but I really appreciate you taking the time to build something like this.

@mitcorb oslocadiz is correct, the script is not at a point where it's useful in any way. I'm just in the first stages of learning Ruby, so this post was more as a way of asking the skilled developers in the forum for advice and feedback, not as a usable script at this point. Furthermore, TIG's produced (as usual) a very capable script that does Datum measurements, I'd recommend that. I may shelf this project for the time being anyway, as it's a little to ambitious for my knowledge at the moment. I wish I knew more, but I just haven't had the time to devote to it enough, or enough understanding at this point. Thanks for the interest, Matt

I haven't created any of the sub components yet. I just finished up my job here, and am going to be moving back down to San Diego for school shortly. I should now actually have the time to get these models going. I'll post them as I work on them. Thanks all, Matt
