If you do a lot of this stuff, it may be worth investing in the Instant Road plugin?

When you browse to your plugin folder - do you see a "Compatibility Files" button?
Sorry, do you mean via Windows Explorer? (C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins) If so, no.

Thankys, Bryan. Tea + Biscuits are definitely missing!

RE: Problem with SU
Sorry for being unclear, I meant icons within the toolbars. Turned computer on this morning and it seems fine however!

This is weird, now, parts of my toolbars just seem to vanish, in this example, ATViews, TOS, Fredoscale and Sandbox have all gone weird .... Needs a reboot/redock for them to reappear ....
Sorry chaps, just a little bump for this. Is there any reaosn why I should lose my toolbar icons at all?

RE: Problem with SU
Hmmm, all those toolbar instances reappeared in the regstry after a re-boot.

RE: Problem with SU
Thanks Thom, it appears better than it was. There were 3990 toolbars in registry that the batch command removed!
It still seems to be unstable though. Especially if I have two instances of SU running - still keeps minimising when it's thinking and saying 'not responding'.

What's the highest number for ToolbarsUser-BarXXXX that you find?
ToolbarsUser-Bar
1852is the highest I can find. Thanks for helping me. I'm going to back up the registry (via CCleaner) and give them batch commands a whirl. Thanks again.

RE: Problem with SU
Just had a look at the registry - not touched anything though! ... And as you say, there are hundreds (thousands) of toolbar entries ...
Toolbars-BarXXXX ToolbarsUser-BarXXXX ToolbarsUserCustom-BarXXXXP.s. I trust myself more than the IT manager to be pefectly honest!

I've had this problem as well. In my case it turned out that the registry settings for my toolbars had been messed up so there was thousands of toolbar registry entries - all invalid. Just junk data.
Are you familiar with the registry?
If you are, can you have a look in the registry and see how many Toolbar related entries you got?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp8\Not really, no.
Is it tricky to view? -

Is this at work or home?
For someone to help it might be useful if you posted your machine specs, OS and graphics card details for the problem machine.
This is at work, sorry.

Problem with SU
Recently, I've encountered very annoying problems with my SU and can't think what it might be - can't think of any new plugins I've installed which could have affected it.
Anyway, my SU is extremely slow upon loading and whenever I alt+tab it back into the SU, it takes just as long to wake up. All of the dialog boxes flash/blink/dance and SU minimises itself before (usually) settling down and doing it again after the next alt+tab.
Can anyone shed any light on this matter?
Thanks.

My first ever render!
Hey guys,
Well I've been slowly teaching myself Twilight render and think I'm sloooowwwllly getting there. Attached is the first effort that I've been reasonable happy with and just thought I'd post up here after getting lots of advice on the TR forums. (This is a totally made up scene btw)
I'd really love to recieve any criticisms/thoughts (shoot from the hip - I'm here to learn) so I can improve in my next renders - I'm bored of this one and itching to model something else!
Cheers.

RE: HMS Victory 1765
I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't seen any images from you for a while! Then I inadvertantly wandered into WIP and WHAM! Was great to see this project develop. Great work! I bet your computer is petrified at what your next project will be!

RE: Hello, new boy in the building
Hi and welcome!
Would be interested to see some of your exhibition designs. I recently did a basic one for my company's stand at the NEC .... Great fun ....
