The brick details on the wall are fabulous, great stuff.

RE: Export sizes
Sorry for the late reply chaps.
Thanks so much for all of your input, I really appreciate it. I'm sorted now after a meeting with the web people, I'm exporting (as Gai suggested) high res images via SU, TWR and TWR alpha mask and the web geeks are over the moon with that, so that's good enough for me.
Thanks again.

RE: Export sizes
Thanks guys, I am aware of the export options but there's not control over the size of the export, unless I change the SU window? I'll have a look at work today though.
Thanks Rich, will also investigate Sizer.

Export sizes
Hi all,
I'm trying to do some exports from SU but I need them to be at the exports to be at a standard pixel size.
I will be exporting a scene and then running it through Twilight Render to create an alpha mask. These both (obviously) need to be the same dims.
So, is there a plugin or something that enables me to manage the exports, rather than just having the screen size (which on my laptop is a VERY strange rhombus!).
Thanks as always,
Lee

RE: Sweet Shop..
I recognise that shop!!! Do you plant to do the pub, too?!?!
Is the shop window a render or a photograph? Looks great!

RE: Beamish Museum....
I love Beamish, great to see it modelled.

Thanks for showing your textured SU file too - great to see.

RE: Lych Gates...
Mods, please can you stop John posting photographs up and claiming them for his own 'renders'. I find this very unfair on the rest of us.

RE: Bespoke Chocolate Moulds!
Thanks so much to everyone for the contributions. Got lots to take on. I'll let you know how things progress.

RE: Bespoke Chocolate Moulds!
Sorry John, not entirely sure I follow. . . . There'll be no bump maps used - I'm guessing it will be a simple SU model, made into a mold (thanks driven!) ready for the chocolate to be poured in. It will then be decorated/embellished by the very skilled chocolatiers.
Driven, thanks for your reply - some great ideas which I will definitely investigate. Thanks.

Bespoke Chocolate Moulds!
I've had a very interesting chat with a local chocolate maker today who contacted me and wants to make a building/buildings/the whole city centre, from chocolate! Our city is home to Rowntrees/Nestle and also Terry's (before it closed down and took those delicious chocolate oranges with it!) so has a rich chocolatey heritage.
I'm not sure of actual sizes/spec yet, but am meeting the client soon to have a chat.
Anyway, I'd basically like some ideas before we meet. I was thinking 3d printing for the moulds but have no experience of this and from what I've read, the cost could be prohibitive? Is injection moulding a better alternative? Can SketchUp be utilised to design? Again, sorry, but I have no experience in this either and I'm guessing the costs would make this unviable?
Is there another angle I should be attacking this from? Does SketchUp need to be involved at all and will the client be better exploring another avenue? I think the budget could be tight on this (when isn't it?!) but am going to offer my time for free - I think it's such a cool project.
Any thoughts much appreciated!
Thanks!

RE: Animation/Video in SketchUp
That makes perfect sense. Thanks so much, Dave.

RE: Animation/Video in SketchUp
Ah, excellent, so that could suffice for my needs then?
Also, we need the fly-through to be able to 'look around' like the native SU tool. Can the flightpath2 plugin do that?

RE: Animation/Video in SketchUp
By animation/video, I actually think I mean fly-through???

Animation/Video in SketchUp
Hi there,
The company I work for design, manufacture and install outdoor playscapes and play areas.
We're having a new website designed and would like to add a couple of videos/animations of our schemes to the content. I have only ever used scenes for animation so I am just wondering if there are any good alternatives? I note there is the FlightPath2 plugin on smustard, has anyone had any experience of using this? Can this export to a web-friendly format?
Happy to look at any possibilities though.
Thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks!

Model into a photo
Hiya chaps,
Just wondering the best way of how to put a model into a photograph.
A client wants a visualisation of a small new-build from a very particular angle. I have the photograph that I have to insert the model in to, but whats the best way to get the model to the same angle? I'm guessing there's a better way than trial and error?!
Thank-you.

[Movie] The Tree Of Life
Saw this last night. Still not sure what to make of it? A beautiful work of genius or self indulgent twaddle? I enjoyed it though. The amazing scenes showing the creation of the universe were worth the ticket price alone. The star of the show though was young Jack played by newcomer Hunter McKracken. He was fantastic and stole every scene which he was in.
Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?
