Surely nobody would cheat for a different coloured username (as others have said)?!

I'm going to make sure I enter every comp from now on as I see it as a great way to do something I wouldn't normally do, out of my comfort zone (I'm a slow, methodical modeller) whils having a bit of fun. Similar to Box, I've never seen it as a competition per se, just a chance to do something different, if you get a purple name, cool, if not, you've had fun and done something different for 30/60 minutes.

How long did it take you to model this beauty by the way?

Anyone know any good and cheap (preferably free) video editing software?

I am (rather geekily) recording a second of footage for every mile I run un my marathon training. I am at my wits end with Windows Movie Maker and then, in desperation, Movie Maker Live. It keeps saying it can't read the files, they need fixing, the file could be corrupt etc etc etc. They aren't. There all fine. Only does it once I start going over 60 seconds of film, too.

I just need to edit clips, and add some text for each second of the film, i.e. 1m > 2m > 3m etc. Nowt fancy really.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

I'm trying to create a tube with a helix 'hollowed out' from it.

I only have the free SU version at home and have subsequently tried intersecting but to no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: the tube and helix are only grouped for ease, I intersected them ungrouped.

Hi and welcome!

Make sure your styles toolbar is on by going to VIEW > TOOLBARS and making sure STYLES is ticked.

On this toolbar are 7 options for how your model appears. It is likely you have clicked on "x-ray". Click on "Shaded" or "Shaded with textures" to get your model back to how you want to view it.

If there are no edges on, turn them on clicking VIEW > EDGE STYLE > EDGES.
