at least one of the woodworker cad programms does this automatically, see the vid here.

we had a person last week in our office, who presented the software to us. apparently the programm makes a panorama, and then you can load it to the ipad. with the right app you can move the ipad, and the picture will follow. apparently the app connects somehow the panorama with the ipads gps. this way the app knows, where north is, if you have set it correctly in the drawing.

and yes, my boss is considering the software, which would mean "goodbye SU" 😞

      How much does it cost????

Will this whole transfer halt all developments of paid plugins like Vray, Podium? I've been anticipating Vray for so long, now looks like its gonna freeze...

and, by the way, why do people generally picture the future as a catastrophic one? let's look ahead to a better Sketchup. it is much better for one's health.

dunno.. my take on it is that people are generally excited about this change.. it's just that one negative comment seems to affect people greater than one positive comment..

(which reminds me of something i heard a few times over the years… "it takes ten positive acts throughout a day to make up for one negative" (or something like that)) …we're (humans) weirdos

SU is not a parametric 3D program and probably never will be.

It's partially parametric. You can change edge length from the Entity window, arc segments - there is Dynamic Components - there are plugins that generates parametric geometry (I made a utah teapot plugin with parametric properties - I'm working on Bezier Surface where meshes are parametrically controlled with bezier curves and modifiers.)

Thomthom Have you seen this thing:

      Very inspiring.

      How much??? ($$$$$)
