Hi
I need to place a lot of the same component of different vertical faces (gribs on a large clibing wall). Right now I select the component and press CRTL to copy. But the faces are not in the same angle as the axis and this gives me some problems.
Does anyone know a plugin that make this easy ? Like, Tool>place component by point>Select componen via dropdown menu>click on face.

Yes, it's might be a Micas trick, but I can't find the link anymore.
It works fine in version 01.05.30, but if I do exactly the same in the newer versions it looks very strange. Do you know if I'm doing something wrong, and it acualy works in the newer versions ? that would be nice. I have attached the texture I use, so you can se if we are referring to the same method.
When installing it does not ask for a folder, just automatic installs it in sketchup version 7. Might be because I heve both 7 and 8 installed.

Because of the larger UI window, and not beeing able to render textures as environment (and beeing a kind of oldfasioned?) , I'm stuck at Vray version 01.05.30.
I have updated to Sketchup 8.0, but my old Vray version, automatic installs in version 7.0 
Does anyone know if its possible to install it to version 8.0 ?

As i wrote, I was looking for a script that could split a face so it became a part of the model as lines, so they could have the same style as other lines in the drawing. I hoped that protrude would help me - but I can't get it to work
I have added an image that shows the result - I have to add the lines manuel.

The function could be - select face > hatch in content menu > axe > specific distance / random distance > layer ?

I might be using two different versions of SU, not sure.. but at work, my measurements inputbox is placed in the lower left corner, at it is in the lower right corner. Does anyone know how to move it to the lower left side ? it keeps getting covered by the different tool windows

No it seems to work. I selected a other style, and then seleced the first one again. Hmmmm LO a lot of (bugs ?) figure it out by trying a lot of things, and not all of them are logical.
But not it seems to work. I would like to trim my workflow, so I'm trying cut off indesign and use SU / LO instead.
Shame that LO does't import PDF.

I'm trying to figure out how to have different line weights in sections, so that walls that are cut gets a think line, and all other lines are thin.
It looks fine in SU (section cut width), but it seems to disappear in LO
Am I doing something wrong ?
