The Axes can be fixed using this: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30508

Thanks a lot for this great advice. My headache has been cured finally . I hope this is an evergreen feeling and I wont run into this section cut zoom problem again. ๐Ÿ‘

And thanks everyone for the advice. I also need an autocad to sketchup workflow tips and tricks so that such headaches and others can be prevented. Is there a complete guide available from autocad to sketchup? ๐ŸŽ‰

I uninstalled Sketchup 2015 and vray. Ran Ccleaner, cleaned my registry using ccleaner. Then installed both the software. Now everything is fine. ๐Ÿ‘ I should have waited instead of posting my problems here. ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜ณ

    • Vray 2015x64 not working on sketchup 2015x64

Today I downloaded the latest version of vray from the chaosgroup website

      I have sketchup 2015 64 bit

      I installed vray here

      C:\Program Files\SketchUpprovffresh\SketchUp 2015

unfortunately, nothing is happening when I start sketchup. The installation goes smooth surprisingly. I only have one sketchup on my laptop i.e. sketchup 2015 64 bit.

While installing vray latest one, the setup detected an old vray, which it asked me to uninstall and then I pressed the yes button. Everything went fine. No errors, nothing.

      What is wrong ?

Do you realise that is thousands of meters across, full of hidden layers, and has raw geometry on layers other than Layer0? Had me confused as the model units are set to mm and 0 precision.

raw geometry on other layers is dangerous? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

    • Component axes problem

Iโ€™m working on a really complex model of a 13 hectare site. I drafted all the plan in autocad long time back without giving much thought about component axes, ie. I didnโ€™t pay attention to the โ€œblockโ€™sโ€ origin in autocad since that is the way I have been working since I started using autocad.
Now in sketchup, because of component axes problem, I am facing a lot of trouble in modelling as I have explained earlier also in other places on SCF. This is one of the simple model from a very small part of my whole site. uploaded. If anyone can check it what is wrong, then please help.

Some weeks back I came to know about the option โ€“ Model info>component>show component axes.
What is the limit for component axes beyond which SketchUp begins to misbehave?

    • [REQ] Thanks button

Many forums have a thanks button which makes it easier and faster to say thanks. Can we have a thanks button also? And the users start getting respect with a thanks meter below their profile. Sometimes Im in a real hurry and need to say thanks really fast.

So many ways to make it, component stringer, path copy, slicer, grow, just to name a few. It's an awfully big question and not a lot of specifics from your image.

Oh sorry! Advanced search is written in small font, I couldn't see it. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

How can I make this sort of form in sketchup? I can make the bulk of the form using sandbox, artisan etc. But how will the tiles be created?

years ago in 2009 i suppose, there used to be an advanced search feature here on SCF. Where is that feature gone now? Is it only for premium members or what? ๐Ÿ˜ข

    • RE: [Plugin] Originate component axes

I would like it to work for all nested components within a component. So if we use the co nand on one component, all the nested components should also get originated axes. Currently it works for a single component. We have to manually select the nested components every tome within a component to make this plugin work.

Can there be an inspector sort of plugin which analyses and gives warning about problematic axes of components?
