ok, dug through my notes from the last time this happened (with a 15.x update), and did this workaround Option 5: Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015. Right-click on the file “ThumbsUp.dll” and select Rename. Rename the file to “ThumbsUp.old”. This will disable the drawing of SketchUp thumbnails in Explorer. Did it to both 2015 & 2016. Rebooted, hopefully this will fix it going forward. If any Trimble employees are here, PLEASE FIX THIS Thanks, Glenn

glenn: 2013 ok and 2014 issues does not mean it is a foregone conclusion the problem is 2014 although probability higher. It sounds like 2014 is waiting from some entity to release its operation such that 2014 can complete the close action. This can be caused by virus, autoruns etc. You would be surprised the number of programs running on you machine. Make sure you graphics driver, antivirus definitions are up to date and run scan of your system. If your security software has the option check auto runs(startups) and stop programs you do not need and also run registry scan. I have not seen this issue with my 2014 but using free so Trimble will probably have problem duplicating issue although they should be able to have you run a program to trap failure using some of the System Internals TS tools.

The platform includes planning tools of expert architects and engineers and advance analytics and simulation tools.” There are some fantastic claims being voice in the article in relation to elimination of waste ...... hope this is the case. Boofredlay, the kite link you posted is similar, I thought there was one with open cells/chambers (more of an acrobatic chute)? perhaps I have went over to the 3d warehouse & put the two together in my mind…no offense intended Alan. It's impossible to say what is happening with your DWG file contents without taking a look inside the file(s) themselves. One common error is that a file contains objects that were produced in an add-on, like the walls and other construction objects created with AutoCad Architecture (previously called Architectural Desktop). These must be converted into standard AutoCad 3D geometry in the originating application before importing them into SketchUp. When importing, SU also ignores entities that do not form geometry, like text and dimensions, imported images and hatches. SU version 7 cannot read the latest (2010) DWG file format. Anssi
