They also have competitions for the thinnest complete shaving. Some of the shavings seem to be a translucent and unimaginably thin, yet are a complete shaving. If you want to try, softwoods are easier than hardwoods. http://kottke.org/13/02/competitive-wood-planing

A further note: if you change your shortcuts, SketchUp does not generally save the changes to the properties file until you close SketchUp (at least on Mac). As a result, the sketchUcation tool TIG mentions (which reads the file) won't see the changes until you close and restart SketchUp.

@richard said: ..I'd suggest you need bump map it induce the roughness! I guess that way is far more difficult to be managed in KT, using layers as Massimo said is the best way. I think Gilles has found a good workaround anyway, providing that the sum of the channels colours doesn't exceed 100% white in order to respect the mentioned law.

@michaliszissiou said: Thank you for the link. I was always good on this. BTW, extremely boring. Ancient greek geometry is here, have a look, but what kind of geometry? One that follows the nature of the marble? A fractal geometry then? If you measure parthenon you'll find lot of golden section there. OK, lot have been published. But you'll also find another kind of section, a god knows where did it came from (again, lot of literature here) You may find some more, and more. In the end you may think that these all are simply nonsenses. An artist always search for a way to measure his thoughts, his feels, his ideas, his senses... This is all about art.

Thanks for sticking the "active topics" link on all the pages. That's the one I use the most and I always had to go back to "Board index" to find it.

You know, if it split the curve into two connected curves, could it be that there is a deeper level of triangulation across the rectangular starting face, that happens to affect the curve? Maybe not.

Yes I know that and use it a lot. I think it can be useful to get this intersection separate to create new geometry to connect two volumes. I used to redraw this intersection by hand to get this, if I'd know!

Thank you so much for your answers, I notice that Fredo have recently implemented something like an "Update Observer" don't know how this work but it would be a great thing if it could scan every plugin installed. @unknownuser said: if you're a volunteer you could do it I was thinking of something like the big red button named Plugin Index

@unknownuser said: Somehow like the rotate tool alignment works? I have a pending feature request at Google. Until then, have a look at this plugin. exactly this would be a must. I tried chris fullmer's perpendicular face tools but it is not as easy than the rotate tool alignment, It would be easy for sketchup team to add this particularity for basic shapes. just 3 clicks.
