Talking about SLI, anyone have a SLI profile for Sketchup 
Currently force rendering mode 1 or 2 doesnt really do much. 
In regards to your question to video card, spend more money on CPU over GPU unless your after market renderer
, i.e. Vray for SU 2.0 (in the works) uses GPU to process render.

The trunk and branches could possibly do with being higher poly, but it's not too shabby with some smoothing applied.
Post them on warehouse. Tittle them high poly trees. SO that those without the program can get even more free high quality trees. Mind you,

My 2 cents on this is adjust the matertial reflection and subdivision rate.
Nice render btw. 
I use TGI3d a lot but it doesnt need toolbars. Also boolean,cleanup,etc plugins are missing here.
Screen size at workplace is 23inch *Isnt it awesome no one knows im playing with SU at work?? 
Screen size at home is 27inch. Perfect for SU.
1)Get extremely high res commercial HDRI. VFSU sky isnt really as good as v.high HDRI for photo realism.
2)Use as sphere env.
3)VFSU 2.0 will have positional setting for env, current version = no so its trial and error. Hence Photoshop is prefered by some.
Is it simple as just copying the plugin folder into a DVD for backup backup purposes and
copy and paste plugin folder into re-installed SU ? Sorry been away from SU for 6 months

Something like TGI upsample tool But its okay, I own TGI3d toolset as well
Just tried it and I am mightily Impressed.
After preliminary testing this is What I like
-It Works fast, and I mean fast. Subdivision works a lot faster than sds1
-Paint tool applies textures to curve surfaces properly
-Preview tool is brilliant
-Subdivide selection is really nifty
-Knife tool seems to be working a lot better now
-Sculpt tools are decent
-Vertex tools can do the job
What I would have liked
-A greater set of sculpt tools
-A mesh poly increaser

Whats the maximum resolution of a texture that can be placed through Vray for render in SU ? Or is it unlimited
Very good point and it does not sound like something that is too hard to implement.

I have taught 2 people sketchup in my office and they love it and then they leave and start their own business.
I know a few SU users in Perth. Infact, from what they tell me, SU is big in OZ Arch schools now. Even UWA arch course teaches students how to use them.

Whilst I could get a slightly higher spec it doesn't look like it would be worth it in terms of any meaningful performance improvement over my current set up. For the type of work I do Sketchup is still much faster and easier than any other 3D software but on large models the actual button clicking takes seconds whilst waiting for it to respond takes hours!
It's very frustrating and throwing money at it in terms of equipment can't even address the problems. Hardware just doesn't seem to be able to keep up with how much we all push Sketchup. Or perhaps it's that Sketchup hasn't kept up with hardware in that it can't take advantage of the way hardware has gone with multi processors. Or a bit of both.
Well Do what I do, have 2 to 4 SU sessions running and work on 4 different things. That way you are never waiting for Plugin X to complete a task
Edit: Did I mention that I am a mild sufferer of ADD
