Wow, there are some excellent renders here. I better get to work!

Very happy to be of assistance!
Great plugin, Pilou; and thanks for the link, Brurkhard.

RE: Draw a square from center
How about the Tools on Surface plugin and the Centerpoint plugin? That would allow a square from the center of the face.

RE: Re: Some Funny Pics.
Too bad, that was pretty harsh for being creative. They should've just fined him (for vandalism at worst), made him pay for the barrels, let him keep the art and made him haul it off. Guess with the whole "Zombies" road sign and the growing trend to mess with roadside construction equipment they are trying to make an example out of those that get caught.

RE: Render test, please...tomsdesk 2.5d trees?
Kerkythea, 500x500. I had to explode everything to each individual face and delete the main vertical and horizontal face in the tree before exporting to Kerky. Once in Kerky, I used the alphas as clip maps, inverted them and rendered.

RE: Looking for helix tool
The iron working plugin was taper maker, and as a suggestion you could create the helix lines and then twist them with Fredo's plugin...

Haha..I love it. How cool is that....spidey sipping on a cup of joe and hanging out on a sign you built in sketchup!
Heh, he's just looking at the cup wondering how coffee filtered through a spidey-suit mask will taste...
(nice job on the sign!)

RE: A different use for SketchUp...
Burned it out? You know you're supposed to cut little pieces to size, not grind the sheet to size right?
Lol, a new grinder isn't that much - heck, check Craigslist. Usually once a month someone is selling all their stuff.

That looks cool.
Hmmm...gives me an idea for the next challenge, how about a stained window challenge where not only the texture of the glass needs to be present but also the filtered light and even colored light/refracted, and even diverted spectrum effects?
The intersection of two hobbies, I'd definitely enter that one.

A different use for SketchUp...
Okay, we usually have architectural stuff here and the odd car or other item rendered for display. I use SU for something a little different: stained glass windows. Here's the latest one I've made, and the SU images. Panel is 26 3/4" sq.

RE: Real time Walkway with Half Life engine
Neat! I have HL/HL2 but don't have it installed anymore. I'll put it back on my computer just for this.

RE: Bonzai 1.0 is released
It sure looks similar to SU, and it has one feature that I wish SU supported: NURBS
-
RE: Should i migrate to ubuntu?
Ditto for keeping XP. I run SU on Ubuntu and it just has too many glitches plus the plugin issues Coen mentions. Just not worth it, I'd stick with Blender for Linux.

I have no idea what that is, but it certainly reminds me of Monty Python...

RE: War Scene(Not Graphic)
Looks like it was taken right out of Call of Duty 5 and made better. Very nice job to do that from scratch.

RE: Is there a plugin that closes faces on curves?
Got it sorted out.
I tried "Loft" but for some reason it wouldn't work on the curves (they were welded), that's why I started looking for the "Curvestitcher" type plugin. I tried welding them and grouping them separately so that there was no interfering geometry, but "loft" didn't work again.
Odd, I usually can figure out what I did wrong.
To get them to stitch properly I had to select each edge for the curve to be stitched in the same order, i.e. bottom to top, and then weld them. This got the stitcher plugin to do what I needed.

RE: Is there a plugin that closes faces on curves?
Works!!
Almost...
It's stitching starting from opposite ends of the curve resulting in an hourglass type shape. Odd, considering that they are exactly the same curve, they are copy/pasted.
Thanks though! I'll play with it and see what happens.

Is there a plugin that closes faces on curves?
I had a curve explode and re-welded it. Unfortunately the faces were deleted, and filling each individual face for each matching edge segment and the smoothing the edges is very tedious.
Is there a plugin that will fill these faces? Just letting my laziness get the better of me.
