One of the main benefits of Dave's suggestion of Tig's image trimmer is that the trimmed png will cast a correct shadow rather than a block.

@jga said: Matthieu NOBLET released a plugin Recall_last_tool.rb that worked with SU7, but I've found it didn't appear to work with SU201* versions. Depending on what kind of errors occur, that could be because SketchUp changed from Ruby 1.8 to Ruby 2.0 in 2014, or it could be due to changes in the SketchUp API. It is quite common for older plugins, especially way back to SU7, to need updating for new versions of SketchUp.

Yes. Open a new file and set the dimensions to the units you want to use. Then use File>Save as template. Make sure that template is selected to be the default. From then on, you'll use the same units in each model unless you change them in Model Info.

It's worth noting that the ground plane is fixed. The red and green model axes are, by default, on the ground plane. The axes can be moved and reorient ed but the ground plane cannot be moved.

Sorry seems this pluging not more updated! Seems it's works not entierely with the new version of SketchUp! So take Curviloft by Fredo ! Many options are inside! Another little thing : for put face's object perpendicular to a curve use the tricky Pependicular face tool by Chris Fullmer Here between a Circle and a Rectangle by an Arc Circle [image: lzOC_GIF_curviloftt.gif]

I think the basic rule is you can't soften border edges. So yes you can soften all edges at once except those that are not border lines (in a way this includes edges with more than two faces) and never soften anyway. In your case if you don't want to clean up geometry, you could select all lines (with wire frame view) and then deselect the fringe lines of the table cloth, then hide remaining "border" edges. So avoid making overlays for just this result. But without the cleanup you'll never get good texture mapping anyway.

Change the font in your LayOut document and export to PDF. As Richard points out and as has been shown elsewhere, it's possible that the problem is due to licensing of the font you are using.

John, thank you. Now, I'll try to figure out how to fix my file using Acrobat Distiller 11.0 (Windows) as v1.5...

Not in SketchUp. You could draw the dimension lines and brackets manually. You could modify dimensions created in LayOut to look like that although for perspective views, I think drawing the brackets in SU would be easier.

Thank you, Dave R. That was the solution: to disable "Hide when foreshortened".

Yes. Change it in a new file and save it as the default template.

This is how I understood your advice to me: Scene 1A/Select All/Explode/Select All/Layer0/Make Group/Layer1/Update Scene Scene 1B/Layer3 Invisible/Explode/Select All/Layer0/Group/Layer1/Update Scene I went through the other scenes basically in the same way. I've closed and opened the model a few times and no dimension lines have disappeared!! Thank you for the valuable lesson.

That depends on the object, but in it's most rudimentary form, simply select a face and move it. [image: 2uMh_Skew.gif]

If you don't want to hide the edges in the model, you could create the same effect easily by combining image exports. [image: laoo_CT1.png] [image: ZXSE_ct2.png] [image: SSq7_ct3.png]
