There's a huge issue with this tool (I noticed it after dekade of using ) - it distorts objects. Additional operation needed (reset skew, rotation) afterwards. Any chance to to fix it please?

I have the same problem, i cannot place lights, and sometimes I don't have access to the dialog box about pov-ray materials? what's wrong?

For those who have problems with materials and lights in Su2Pov, the following: As previously documented regarding placing the lights: First be sure that a copy of the Su2Pov folder is in the Su components folder. Use the <esc> key after selecting a Su2Pov light fixture to produce a cursor that will locate the light. The "edit Pov-Ray Finish" menu is available if you start Su by selecting a project.skp with your mouse. If you start the program before opening a file, the menu may not appear. Once the program is started in this way, the menu is available, until you shut down. The dos screen flashes from time to time when the feature can not be accessed. Make sure that you edit component or group for access to a material. Aside from always starting the program in this way is to make a shortcut of a untitled.skp, rename it SketchUp, and change the folder icon to the Su icon, place the shortcut where ever you start your program from. The drawback to this is that you can not start Su by dragging a file into the shortcut. If anyone finds exception to this, let me know and I will edit this post.

Yes, I've studied it extensively... But what I didn't noticed before is that when you have a component within another component and when you paint this sub-component globally (by default) you thus modify its definition. That's to say you can't have this sub-component colored with 2 different colors in to separate "parents". I hope that I'm clear, anyway this makes my job a lot easier I must extract an Excel sheet with a global list of top-level furniture components (kitchen cabinets, shelves...), and a detailed list of the components of level 1 whith their colors/materials, themselves made of various pieces of level 2 of various colors/materials. I was looking for a plugin like that. I had a file with many textures, but most were not applied to any object. When you export a 3DS file for example, the textures that were not applied to any face were not exported. This Plugin helped me a lot because it exports all the textures that are in the model, including those that are not applied. Thank you very much.

Thanks Didier, this is exactly the missing function I was looking for, but it does not work works under sketchup 8... I posted too quickly and I did not put the script in the right plugins folder (damn Apple...)
