With this model, I can concentrate on listening to free ringtones from suoneriemp3.com, which is really great.

His work ranged from amazing carvings to a custom piano and everything in between. I was very lucky to have meet him and tour his studio in 1978. He had a Queen Anne chair with a hat an coat draped on it, all carved out of mahogany that was the most amazing carving I have ever seen. Every time I see a Queen Anne chair I think of his carving. I recommend people check out his work, you will not be disappointed, Wendell Castle was an amazing artist. Thanks Dave for letting us know.

Thank you, tuna. Wendell Castle, who died last Friday at age 85, sculpted a lot of weird furniture. I think he proves Dave R.'s point pretty well. Best, dh

@cjryan said: Well I, for one would be disappointed to see you go. Although I don't post that often. I read most everything that's new. Keep on keepin' on. Chris Ditto

Thank you, tuna and Dave. I don't think a big steam box would do much good, Dave. What I really need is a great big credit with Knoll. The bends in this chair are wicked complicated. Best, dh

Yeah, Dave, I couldn't help myself. I've long been looking for good views of this chair and other bentwood pieces. And thanks for the good words, tuna.

Thank you, tuna. And Dave, I couldn't get any of my dogs to sit still long enough to balance on the table.

Thanks for the good words, everyone, and to Mike for the link to info about the Vignellis. They were a interesting couple who created many interesting and beautiful things. This table isn't one of the beautiful things, though. But it did serve one very important purpose: It gave me something to do for a few minutes this afternoon.

I haven't thought about the blivit since I stopped reading Mad Magazine every month. Wonder if it could be modeled in SketchUp--not just the edges, but the faces, too. Best, dh

Thanks, Tuna. It might help if the piece were made of soft wood.
