Biedermeier chair
-

Spotted this challenging chair on the 1stdibs.com web site recently. The original is made of cherry and was built in about 1810. The back splat and crest rail have great designs that are inked onto the wood; I'll try to project images of those designs onto the model.
Took several tries to get the back legs, splat, and crest rail looking more or less right. The back legs are carved with a raised section that blends into the U-shaped piece supporting the splat, so the curve seems to die into the leg. I may or may not add joinery; depends on my mood when I get back to the model.
Enjoy.

looking forward to the final result
