From memory there was a bug, I hesitate to use the word, that caused some systems to lock to 2019. The simplest way back then was to uninstall 2019 and then it would recognise the newer versions properly. But if you have got it to work then all is good.

Create a SketchUp template with a "dummy model" and scenes set up to show the desired views of the model. Then create a LayOut template that uses the scenes from your template for the various viewports making sure you don't modify the scenes in LayOut. Set the scale as needed for the viewports. Use the Sketchup template for modeling. When you are ready to create the LayOut document, open LayOut, select the LO template and, in Document Setup>References, relink the SKP file from the dummy model to your project model. As long as the scenes have the same names and are not modified, the viewports will show the project model. Here's an example from one of my LO templates. I've not played much on Live myself - currently awaiting my gold membership arriving from an eBay seller but I have managed to complete the game on veteran and only a few achievements still to get. It would be good to get a few SU users in a game at some point.

Hi Rob, I think the main reason many people came here is because of the easy navigation and style of this forum. I'm 100% sure that if Google SketchUp had offered a similar replacement forum even with some side / banner adds very few would have moved. I use Gmail as one of my everyday email addresses and the little bit of unobtrusive advertising does not bother me in the slightest, in fact I often find it useful. Its a fantastic free email account and I would have paid for it! I doubt very much that this forum will survive on casual donations unless Coen decides to stop eating and take up residence in the local park! I am aware that he is presently running things on a shoe string, not easy going at all. I would have no objection if advertising was to become part of this site in the future allowing it to grow and further develop in the training / education fields of SketchUp and other related CAD programs. That's true Jon. I wonder why it is that they've never really jumped in fully to the 3D market. Considering the current possibilities with CS3 and 3d painting, it would be so exciting to have a shared connection with programs like Cinema & Photoshop. Beyond that there is the Maxon link into ArchiCad where you can freeform model in cinema or... eh hem.. Maxon and send it back non-descructively to ArchiCad. Just some interesting alliances there.

nice.. might have to give this a whirl too. i used to have a cool program on my t610 phone that allowed me to control my mac via bluetooth..that was fun
