RE: Need help with a complex symmetrical Teaching Hospital model
I agree with Wo3Dan, your explanations of what you want don't really come together in other peoples heads and I'm sure you would see it all better if you modeled it yourself.
For example, I took your 100m by 22m with 6m corridors, modular structure and gave it a 3m high wall, as you will see from the attached image and skp file, the overall scale doesn't impress, it's too flat. It does however give you over 500 individual modules, some of which are naturally smaller and cut off by the design.
I only did this out of curiosity in a spare moment, I'm not interested in taking it any further.

RE: SU Animation with Pipe-Flow Diagrams -- Suggestions??
Works for me on FF.

RE: Should I upfrade my PC?
With all those components you might consider using Ghost Component, to let you move around better.

RE: Hiding edges in a single component but not entire model
@sketchupjockey said:
Even in wireframe mode surfaces will select and then one must deselect them manually.
These four spheres have been treated as described with the possible exception of using the hide option in the Edit menu.
With wire frame on I selected the Third sphere and chose hide from the Edit menu.
With Edges turned off I selected the Fourth sphere then chose hide from the Edit menu. You certainly don't need to select or deselect each individual surface or edge.
Edit: there are also several plugins that will hide/unhide faces and edges.

RE: Welding "Groups" Together
Or it may be that you just want all those groups to move around as one, if so simply select all and make group.

RE: CREATE POLYGON FROM CENTER
Use the Polygon tool and type 4s enter for square 8s enter for octagon etc.

RE: Tips about running more than one Sketchup
To roughly quote Gaieus from when I was confused about that,
Those are multiple instances of SU running. In the Mac, you can open multiple files in the same instance.

RE: "Drilling" a hole in a rod ?
There are quite a few answers to this, but the most simple one is,
Draw your second circle so it isn't touching the rod, then it will push/pull.

RE: [Plugin] Super Drape
Just a bit of feedback.
I draped a simple sphere onto a flat surface at different rotations and got some strange results. I scaled up by 10 to see if it was just a small face issue and still odd.
I'm not sure that this is something anyone would do with this plugin, but thought I should show you anyway. It's strange how sometimes the drape goes all the way through to the bottom surface and other times not, and on the large version it blew out the top surface.

Happy Frog Handles
I was having a little doodle with the sculpting tools of Artisan this morning just to get the hang of shaping.
I don't think I have ever posted in the gallery but thought these were a bit of fun, nice for a kids bedroom chest of draws or some such.
Unfortunately the file size is quite large, 1.6mb for half a handle, so probably not that user friendly.
So just an idea to perhaps inspire something a little different for something often so bland.
I still haven't learnt to render so these aren't really Gallery shots, just pure SU with simple colours.
If anyone is deranged enough to want the model I'll upload it.

RE: Sculptris
I just went to the forum for sculptris and found the first sticky with what seemed relevant to getting started.
The links are in the thread. -
RE: Sculptris
I saw this thread this morning so downloaded Sculptris, watched a couple of Vids and after mucking about for a while I produced this.
Very nice program.
I guess now I should learn about rendering.

RE: Auditorium Seating - Help
Without looking at your model it sounds like you could use,
Copy along Path http://www.smustard.com/script/PathCopy
or
Component stringer http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=23616

RE: Steampunk arcade machine
Ignore me, didn't realise you had taken it out. Sorry.
Looks great.

RE: NASA satellite set to crash back to Earth
As it's the size of a Bus it won't arrive on time and when it does there will be two more behind it.

RE: Problems with skewed walls in floorplan.
You would probably find Double Line useful in this case.

RE: Molding Profiles
When I use these profiles I tend to open the group and copy the profile then close the group and paste the profile to where I want it.
This leaves the original undisturbed, and the profile free to push pull etc.
