It looks like SU on Mac is looking into the 2 plugin directories, 'User' first and then 'Application Support'.
Fredo
Rubies are always put into the "application support" folder:
It's just that sometimes they work in the
users/account/library/application support/GoogleSketchup 7/Sketchup/plugins
and others in the
HD/library/application support/GoogleSketchup 7/Sketchup/plugins
Sketchup.find_support_file "Plugins"
/Users/jamesb/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins
Apparently it looks first at the Users/jamesb/Library.... rather than HD/Library.... Interesting!
I loaded BZ_Dir_12 folder into Macintosh HD/Users/robertjames/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins and now get the full operational icon set.
In the past I've also had to load ProfileBuilder, Podium, Projection and SCF Power Toolbar into this directory instead of the standard location: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins
No effect on BoolTools: that must be some other interaction
PS (added 5 Aug 2009): Turns out that BoolTools is another that must be loaded in the User folder
["/Users/robertjames/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins",
"/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins",
"/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Tools",
"/Users/robertjames/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/Podium.bundle/Contents/MacOS",
"/Users/robertjames/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/Podium.bundle/Contents/Resources", "/Users/robertjames"]
My two cents worth: I have no problem with any feature of Bezierspline on my Intel iMac.
Also the pdf files located in the BZ_DIR_12 folder open in Adobe Reader 9.
To work correctly, some rubies like BezierSpline 1.2, ProfileBuilder, Podium, Projection, SCF Power Toolbar, Layer Manager 2.1 and probably more, must be loaded into:
HD/Users/robertjames/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins
instead of the standard location:
HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins
What are the rules for location of rubies on a Mac?
Edit: Add BoolTools to the list.
The alternate location is true also for the new version of Layer Manager.
I've started a new Post to address this: "What are the rules for location of rubies on a Mac?"
Great update to an already great tool.
Curious fact however: this new version only works if I install it in my users/library/application/... folder rather than the HD/library/applications/... folder. Any particular reason for this?
Intel iMac, OS X 10.5.7
I'm on an iMac (Intel) here at home: I haven't had a chance to load it on my MacPro at work.
Yes, Bezierspline, icons and contextual menu worked fine and BoolTools icons were okay (The "blank" icons still "work", they just don't have the graphic face).
I downloaded and installed the latest 1.21 version pf BezierSpline and added the BZ_Arc and icons (I also re-installed BoolTools).
Alas! I've loaded BZ_Arc.rb into the BZ_Dir_12 folder and the icon files into IMAGES_standard and IMAGES_CadFather but still get only the original icons and no context command.
Moreover, it seems that BoolTools icons have become blanks!!

with all the gems in the folders we're in need of the 'new-spot-the-clash-finder-ruby-please'
Amen, I'll definitely second that suggestion!!

Well, I think that, since Mac OS 10.5.6 or around, it is preferable to put the plugins in /user/Librairy /Application support/ etc...
That certainly is true of Profile Builder and Podium, but LibFredo6.rb works just fine in the usual place (Mac/Library/Applications Support/Google SketchUp 7/plugins).

I would be interested to see more of your work.
Some of my work is shown at our website:
I've attached some that are not currently on the website. This and all my models are done in SU7.

As I found out. The ..L.png's are for Windows. The ..S.png's are for OSX.
The Smoothing Option is not implemented, because the Author promised this for a Version 3. See a Posting in this Thread before.
Regards Christian
Thanks for the investigation report: now it makes sense that only three icons show (and that I should be patient and wait for version 3 for smoothing).

It was a bit buggy but I never looked to fix it 'cus no one asked... I'll review it and issue an update sometime...
I use it very often and would really appreciate an update: I've had as many failures as successes with it. It's soooo great when it works (but soooo frustrating when it does not).
I'm definitely "asking"
I've attached a "one off" I did this morning to show you a simplistic version of what I do "for real" at work.
I'm very late in thanking you for this plugin: literally hundreds of times I've had to re-create the centerpoint of a curve that, in the process of manipulation, has "lost" its centerpoint.
A perfect example of a plugin that saves a lot of time.

That's because Chris mixes his plugins with crack cocaine making everyone addicted.
Hey, Thom, cut that out: if they arrest him how will we get any more of his great plugins
