PS. to speed things up click no all pop-ups, and then you have a proper record of what does what.
John,
I'm not sure I understand your suggestion, but thank you for it.
Not too sure what "click no all pop-ups" means

I have been trying to use this ruby since version 1 to make an aircraft body.
I just can't seem to get it to work even with version 2.
Profile 2 is just a scaled up version of profile 1.
All lines are welded after setting to the matching number of segments.
This is just the latest in many tries.
Help
Here's my shot at using this tool. It took me quite a while to figure out the sequence of things that worked for me:
Draw the two paths using Bezier Splines.
Convert them using Polyline Segmentor to both have the same number of segment.
Use EEbR.
I subsequently fixed the "seam" and the sharp transition near the front, but was too lazy to re-color it.
I never could figure out how to do the nose cap
Right click on the line and then click on "Convert to"
Simon, there's no other word for you but awesome
I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, but SOAP still does not work.

Hey, SOAP is now working in my Windows 7 installation.
Short story

Download and run the "DirectX End-User Runtime". It will download and install some "additional components".
I downloaded and installed "DirectX End-User Runtime", but SOAP still does not run on my Windows 7 Home Premium setup. Any suggestions? Did you also install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5?
Simply fantastic, Chris. Thank you so much for all your hard work: what would SU be without guys like you???
Again, thank you.
Thank you Simon: I can really understand the process now.
However, you and I have a different definition of "fast and easy".

(easy and fast)
Is your "easy and fast" the same eight-step process in your previous post or have you come up with a real "easy and fast"?
Thanks, JamesD.
Actually, it's not the response I was looking for because that means I have a machine-peculiar problem. Arrrrgh

There is a colour picker for PC as well under the Edit tab.
I've recently:
The problem is that the "Match Color on Screen" color picker on the Materials Edit tab does not pick up a color from another open window.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Putting things on Layer(0) is nice, but how about putting things on a layer of choice rather than just Layer(0).
As I said in my Dec 2008 post, I thought this plugin used to do that: am I wrong? [Windows 7]
Maybe someone else has mentioned this, but how about being able to keep the View/Toolbars drop-down open to allow multiple checking/un-checking toolbar choices at the same time?

- Layer Grouping. you select a couple of layers, click right mouse button and choose the option 'group layers' (or use the same keybord shortcut you use for grouping geometry). now you can still switch on or off the layers within the group separately. but if you switch off the whole layer-group, all the layers within will be turned off at once. when you unhide the group again, only those layers will be made visible again, that were switched on before...
oh, and you can expand/collapse layer-groups in the layer window to make some space...
Along this same line, how about the ability to created sub-layers. By that I mean layers that would appear indented under the "Master" layer and be able to collapse to the Master Layer. Unchecking the Master layer would also uncheck the sub-layers.

In trying to diagnose a VisMap plugin problem in the Ruby forum I did the following:
I took my main model (40MB) and started deleting layers (after I had deleted all but one scene). It initially had 205 layers and 22 scenes. After each set of deletions (about 20 at a time), I updated the scene and saved the model, then tried to "Get Data From Model" [Note: this is a VisMap thing].
I finally had to delete ALL the layers except Layer(0) before VisMap would "Get Data from Model".
The really weird thing is that the file is still 13.6MB!!!!!!
This suggested something not right in how SU handles "something". How could a model with nothing in it be 13.6MB
Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I can send you this if you can handle 14MB.

Please download sceneModel R1.4.zip from here.

We're sorry, but we were unable to locate the page you requested.
There's a tab to see all New Ideas. Your idea should have appeared there.
Is this what you were looking for?
Alphabetizing works great.
It still has a problem with pre-existing models with many layers and many scenes. I tried a new approach: I deleted all but one scene and re-saved the model with a different name. VisMap still would not load the layer names. (see attached)
Another request: Since you can have multiple models open at the same time, wouldn't it be a good idea to have the file name in the VisMap dialog box title?
