@jean-franco said: Hi Tre and welcome here. Select the circle (not the surface) then open the context menu (mouse right click) > Entity Info and there you can change the segments number. Note however that you can only do this for a limited period of time after you draw that circle. Once affected by other geometry (like PushPulling for instance), the segment count of the Entity info box will be greyed out and you cannot change it any more. Best is to do what Alan says. And welcome to SCF. ;9

Tom mate I'm not certain now which ones do and don't I know maxwell, indigo and Artantis do! Though as said I think in most cases people will link to a shader built more for the purpose which means in most cases swapping the maps in the model isn't necessary!

I tihnk you have to use nested functions to do it in DCs, so it'll look something like this: if("x"=y,do_this,(if("x"=z,do_that,do_theother)))

Hi Alan, I missed your post. Perhaps I do not understand Walter's question, but the following is what I understand. Btw, by back face, do you mean the unseen faces behind the ones you can see in the scene? If so I did the following with some success. "Select all" in the scene with right to left window, and explode as necessary to eliminate all components and groups. "Select" in the scene with a left to right window, then "add" to "select"ed, the individual faces at the perimeter of the scene. Make the combined selection into a component, using default name, but "do not replace selection with component". Open component menu, select "model" components, select the default name component, then "save as" skp file. The saved file, includes only the faces that can be seen in the scene. They include however, portions of the visible faces that are behind other visible faces. Open the "default component name" file, but do not save changes to the original file. Step 2 only selects the visible faces completely within the select window, and the balance of the faces along the perimeter must be individually selected. You can skip step 1 if you want the components, and groups to be part of the new file. It will however, contain the back faces within each component, and group.

I use WinMovieMaker. It comes with windows, and includes a limited amount of editing capabilities. Don't know how Smooth Animation works. I create a sequence of scenes (transision 4 sec, delay 0), export as .avi at 30fps, then move it into WinMovieMaker to edit. The final .wav movie is played back with WinMediaPlayer.

Read this sticky on the top of this forum about hoqw to run both on the same machine (that's how I could test it, too - interestingly, I have just deleted the desktop icon of SU 7.0 today so I had to dig for it in my Program files folder.) http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=22158

Never mind - I was also "enlightened" by a Google employee when I first put my hand on SU 7 last year.

Jeff, I can see the faceting of curves in Sketchup as being a big issue. It is to me as well. My background is mechanical engineering and I have used many different CAD systems over the years. All of them used true arc and circles so this was never an issue. Of course they also had filleting (Corner Curves) which could easily solve your problem in one step. All could create a fillet between two lines, arc and line, or two arcs. In your case it would be between the left arc and the horizontal line at the bottom right. All that said I wonder about your need for accuracy in this case. In the real world everything has a tolerance and not suprisingly when you start to build things over 6 to 10 feet your measuring tools start to throw their own errors into the mix. For instance how accruate do you think a tape measure is? Sag, flex, temperature, material and other factors add to the issue. This is why in building construction an error of 1/8 inch is an everyday occurance. Aerospace is the only industry I know of that has addressed the problem with any success. They are starting to use a new technology called indoor GPS. This uses infraRed lasers mounted around the ceiling with the receiver in a hand held measuring tool. The user takes hits on the object to be measured and the 3D coordinate data gathered is uploaded and overlaid on the original CAD model. Boeing developed it.
