thank you very much! i increased the sample value to 50 in the irradiance map menu and everything is fine now, i left all the settings on my usual values so the render time is still fast, with the 0/2 IM rate or the 3000 subdivs in LC the render time was too long

That was my experience, I was checking parsing time, and it ended up being about identical with layer off versus geometry deleted. There may be issues if there are extra materials that are in that off layer, it may be that processing materials could slow things down too. Found the thread. Hi Valero ! Thanks in fact i think you were true, the older parameters are overkill. And the only thing which was important for me was the absence of textsky. So i use Default without it but i Put Gi to an higher value than one because the render was too "grey". And it works fine. Thank you !

NAT is not an issue once you're connected to a VPN, because you're connected to the internal network that lives behind the NAT at that point (unless you have some sort of special setup)

I think the same things happens for files on the same computer... re-opening a file with vray materials it sometimes forgets vray material settings P.s: Devin, the ability to copy a Layer between materials would be awesome!!

I would make sure to have the latest 1.49.01 installed. Now DR does work with this version, but from experience, and the word on the street is that its buggy and might give you issues.

Giving up for a while, nothing I've tried so far has done anything. The only way I can do it is to look more down at the model. It's very aggravating for me right now!

There has been some discussion about this http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=322&t=37586 it is fixable. I suggest you follow the advice in this thread and post there in the future if you still have problems...
