Are you manually typing in the numbers? What if all you had to do was click where you want to anchor the label and where you want the text? Would that make it easy enough?

So LayOut 2019 hasn't changed since 2019 so you need to look at what has changed on your computer. Maybe it's a Windows update or maybe a graphics driver update. Go to the website of the graphics card manufacturer and get their latest drivers for your card install them and see if you see a difference.

You wrote that you reinstalled SketchUp and LayOut. Did you use the latest version of 2019 from sketchup.com/download/all? Did you right click on the downloaded installer and choose Run as administrator? If you didn't do that now and if prompted, choose Repair.

BTW, your profile says you are using 2017 Make. Please correct/update your profile.

Try exporting as PDF, with image resolution set to high, and then rasterizing in an image editor like photoshop or GIMP, with resolution set to 200dpi, and saving to jpg.

    Edit:

Had success exporting up to 2000mm (78"). Any higher and the pdf came out blank. Maybe a hard limit set inside LO.
But, PDF output set to high will export at 300dpi, so changing image size, without resampling should get your 2500mm wide image at 200dpi without issue.

You might try using 7zip to open the .layout file directly. It'll recognize the file as a zipped archive. Also make sure you use the exact right name for the font you are switching to.

If Purging in References doesn't get rid of it, it must be used in at least one spot in the document. Find that and delete it. Then you should be able to purge it.

How are you putting them into LayOut?

What version of SketchUp and LayOut are you using? Still 2014 as indicated in your profile?

Shouldn't need a screenshot. Go to File>Insert and select your .xlsx file. Then choose the range of cells you want in the pop up window.

Your profile says you are using SketchUp 8 Free/Make. If that is correct, you don't have LayOut to import the .xlsx file into. If you are using SketchUp 8 Pro then you have LayOut 3 and it doesn't have the option to import .xlsx files at all.

You're quite welcome. The feature has been requested by a few other users in the past. My guess is that it might be awhile in coming if it does. Lots of other things that seem to be higher priority. Also there aren't a lot of printers out there that can handle multiple page sizes. Not sure about PDFs handling different page sizes either.

PDF's handle different pages sizes just fine. However you may have a valid argument with printers having difficulty with different page sizes, well I would imagine older types of printers anyway.

I found a number of problems with your LayOut file. I expect the crashing is due to a missing reference for the SketchUp file for page 7. Notice there's no path for that reference. (The References actually labeled as missing are marked that way because their paths point to a location on your computer, not mine.

This makes me wonder about how you are inserting the .skp files into LayOut.

I've deleted the viewports associated with that file and purged the unused references.
    Screenshot - 11_25_2020 , 7_41_00 AM.png

I notice that all of your viewports use the Last saved SketchUp view for the scenes. This is not good practice. If have some need to go back to a SketchUp file and make some changes to the model, you need to make sure that you don't change the view or your viewports in LO can be screwed up. Much better to create scenes in the model file so you have fixed views of the model to use for the viewports in LayOut. If you do that, it won't matter what the view in SU is when you save the model.

I assume you are selecting the style in LayOut? It sounds like the style you are selecting is set to show section cuts. You cannot edit the style's properties from LayOut so instead, set the style for the scene in your Sketchup model as desired and edit it if needed to not show the section cuts.

If you share the LO file I will show you how to make the setup if you aren't sure how.

Are you still using SketchUp 2017 as indicated in your profile?

FWIW, since the release of SU/LO2020, I've created a collection of customized styles that are typical of the ones I use in documents I create in LayOut. Some of these styles have section cuts turned on, some don't. These can then be selected in LayOut instead of being set for scenes and I only need my working style in the SketchUp model which helps a bit in controlling file size. In versions before 2020, the styles were set in SketchUp because changing the style in LO resulted in a modified scene and many of the scene properties would no longer carry over if changes were made to it.

    Welcome to the forum DaniVork.

I doubt if the Layout dimension tool could be made to recognise different dimensioning end points. However, you can set up as many dimension styles as you need within the same Layout file. Use a dummy dimension on the page and sample it with the eye-dropper tool before adding a new dimension. Or, use the eye-dropper to update an existing dimension. Ideally, save your dimension in a Scrapbook to use in future work. The Layout dimension system is very customisable, you could, for example have the astrix you like on just one end of the dimension line.

    Good luck!

There isn't currently a radius or diameter dimension in LayOut. I know that it has been requested (because I requested it) so hopefully it will be implemented eventually.

I don't know how an extension in SU would help. When I need to create a radius or diamter dimension I just do it manually with a label.

There does seem to be some excessive nesting and this could be getting in the way of making this work. I've sent another PM.

I don't have the styles in SU coming over into LO.

Do you have a viewport selected when you are looking for the styles?

The In Model styles should be displayed automatically.
    Screenshot - 7_30_2020 , 2_26_18 PM.png

If you click on where it says In Model styles, you should be able to access the native styles as well as any custom styles you might have.
    Screenshot - 7_30_2020 , 2_26_53 PM.png

FWIW, I created a set of styles that match the ones I used to use in SketchUp when I created the various scenes I need for my LO project. Now I normally use a single style in the SketchUp file and choose the desired style for the viewport in LO. For the screen shot above, I intentionally used an older file that has three styles used in it so it would be evident there are in model styles.

    @millerjx said:

Maybe related, maybe not. I do not have the tags saved to a scene coming over into LO.

Do you mean you haven't create scenes for your model? Although it is possible to set up views in LayOut without using scenes in SketchUp, I've found that it still makes better workflow if you do have fixed scenes in the SketchUp file link to the viewports in LayOut.

If you really aren't seeing styles in the SketchUp Model panel, I would wonder about the installation and if it was done correctly.

IMHO, Depending on the size of your model, I've found that creating a LO file for each drawing, I. E. One Lo page per LO file gives fewer issues.

Having said that, LO2020 Pro performs very well now. Even with multiple pages and a 150MB model.

Genarally, keep SU models as light and as well organised as possible.

Yeah good idea can you PDF/DWG/issue all open layout files

    Apologies for the belated response.

I've not really experienced many issues in exporting a LO page to PDF. As long you can refrain from using the Hybrid setting on your viewports, exporting should go well. I've also got into the habit of keeping no more than two layout files open at any one time during this process.

Now, exporting to dwg from LO is an entirely different proposition and it is my view that there is much that needs to be improved by Trimble with regard to the dwg export functionality and the quality and compatibility of the output.

Whenever I am asked to provide dwg files of my LO drawings, I find that exporting SU scenes of plans, elevations and sections directly to separate dwg files is the the way to go. I then XRef the individual components in one coherent master DWG file containing all the necessary linework and issue that. The process of generating the exports is tedious but takes up far less time than dealing with numerous phone calls from confused consultants, wondering how the hell they are supposed to work with the mayhem of vector geometry and uneditable raster imagery all dumped into model space in random positions, and often on the same layer, when spewed directly from LO.

    Hi,
Just a thought. Have you checked your SU scene style settings have hidden lines switched off.
