ProfileBuillder would be a good option.

                Or CurviLoft

CurviLoft to make profiles follow a curve in SketchUp

I can't remember v1 but v3 has an Along Path option that has rudinmentary support for branching paths.

Using ProfileBuilder 3 in SketchUp to draw train rails

I need a path in the middle and two rails (special profile) left and right, to follow the path.
