Hi guys, I am extremely new to Artisan but feeling pretty comfortable with Sketckup. I desperately need some help with organic modelling.
I need to create a shape which looks like an octopus with tentacles wrapping around objects. I don t need the tentacles to have any texture but I would like them to look like a stem at the end....pretty much thin all the way and larger ( conical) towards the end, almost like a suction cup.
I am thinking of starting with the follow me tools but I am not sure that would be a good way to do it plus I would t know how to make it appear a bit more organic at the end.
I hope you guys can help me
      Thanks in advance
      Merry Xmas
      Sal -London

Look for newest Plugin Face2Face. I have not tried it, but I am assuming it will actually loft between two faces regardless of sizes or shapes.

I like to use Tube Along Path for long curving shapes. Typically, these will be formed on Bezier curves. However, you would need to taper these figures using perhaps FredoScale-Taper.

If you use Artisan, I would suggest starting with maybe a hexagonal cross section in the tentacle. You don't necessarily have to do this, it just may reduce processing time.
These are just some thoughts, but may not be how the big guns would approach it.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

            Hello
Happy holidays!!!! thanks very much for your reply, I have watched the video you sent me, it was very useful. Thanks
I will also try to build my model following your advices, hopefully it will work.
I have found this page on this forum, which is pretty much the result I would like to achieve. The model was made in Artisan, but being new to this plug-in I find it very difficult to do the same. Any instructions you guys could give me
