I like it a lot, fine render and it makes the viewer think about it too. Great on several levels.

Absolutely stunning detail! One of my first jobs out of high school was as an old school mechanical drafter. Real paper and pencils. I was creating drawings right down to nuts and bolts and welds for very large heavy equipment. I really appreciate mechanical details. I often skip them in my SU models to keep the file size manageable. SU 2017 does not like large file sizes. Again, excellent work!

Kerkythea was my first real rendering experience. It's a good program. Up until 2021 I was using a an i5-2500K desktop. It was really slow waiting for renderings. I started in computers with a 486. Now that was slow. At least compared to today. I did most of my Fender Stratocaster renderings with the old i5 rig which is still running and had to use it during computer emergencies. I got a 10th gen i9 in 2021 and I blinked and they already came out with 11th gen and now we're at 13th gen. 11th gen didn't get many good reviews. I have an i9 10900K now which I upgraded from a plain Jane 10900.

Ta mate, a few issues with geometry cropping up but that is how the cooking goes. Another F1 this coming weekend so slow progress.

Sharp. I like the offset units they would seem to be useful in numerous different purposes.

Rich, It slows down rendering times and when you add a displacement map it will render slower. It wasn't terribly slow for these and I only did 100 passes with a Presto setting in Thea Render. Blender does have a lot of these features "out of the box" if not with a plug-in or Grasshopper. I got sidetracked late this spring when I was finally getting around to learn Blender using the well known doughnut tutorial by Blender Guru. I even got a small Inspiroy tablet for the brushes. Blender can seem a daunting at first given all the options that are available but of course that requires more focus on my part. Sketchup still seems a better option for straight ahead architectural work for now. That and my 23 year old Autocad ADT 3.3 that I'm still using for the bulk of my freelance work. Anything organic though and Blender would be the better option. Glad you like the shag carpet. Many a tiny screw or spring were lost in those even into the 1980s.
