Thanks for pointing up this Helix along curve plugin! This does exactly what I was trying to do. Also in general this seems to be really great plugin. Hopefully this functionality will be added to some of the offset plugins if there are more people benefiting this.

Do you not have the built in plugin bar "walk through"? It does this. Perhaps it's a Pro feature. I thought it was native to the free version though. If you find it. Click the foot print button then select a place you want to stand, it will automatically move you to that position at an eye level that you dictate in the info bar. Under the camera drop down menu at the top of Sketchup you'll find the Field of View tool, type in a field of view and it will reflect that in the window.

You seem to have a wrong installation (possibly the file RoundCorner.plugin missing in ROUNDCORNER_Dir_23 folder) and some possible interferences with another plugin (I don't know where the 'old_require' comes from! I suggest you resinstall and check that you respect the file and folder footprint indicated in the main post of RoundCorner and of LibFredo6 Fredo

Thanks for the reply. An example of linework code would be BC + and BC -, where BC is the description and the +/- are the linework codes telling the line to start or end here. Mike

@krisidious said: Blocks and Layers... are you exploding the entire autocad file once imported in SU? Most of the repeating elements such as trees and lighting are already in blocks. I'm just wondering why closed polylines in CAD isn't automatically converted into faces after import. Because of this, I still have to find and connect faces for most of areas that's why I looked for such plugin. Thanks for your suggestions.

@tig said: I fully don't understand you desires, as currently expressed... Deciding what touches what is considerably different from counting a list of groups/component-instances. Incidentally, with a little skill in Excel you can link in a CSV file into one tab of an XLS and setup the XLS to report whatever you need in another tab - sorting, totaling, formating etc... It is hard to understand,i know, maybe i expressed my desires wrongly. I need to make program that counts object details. But when i draw with components, i don't want to name every properties of component (component properties have codes, main aim for me is to get those codes automatically) manually - i need that it recognise properties automatically, component properties depends on place where it is situated or jointed with other components. And maybe for some kind of panel component program automatically offers the right size to match in frame. Simply, but i found difficult to explain it. I haven't seen that kind of program, it would be very, very usefull.

Keep raw geometry [edges/faces] on Layer0. Always have Layer0 set as the active-layer - never change it. Select commonly oriented faces [double-click to select their edges to] and Group, or make Component if you will use the same thing repeatedly... Make a new Layer if a suitable one doesn't already exist. Now use Entity Info OR the Layer toolbar drop-down and assign the Layer to that Group/Component... Now these will switch on/off in the Layer Manager dialog and there's no confusion about some faces having edges that on other layers an so on. Remember that Layers control visibility BUT a Group/Component separates the geometry - think of each Group/Component as a separate mini-model within the main model...

The panels made by the manufacturer are 6x8 6x16 and 6x24 the first two sizes are for outside corners. the 6x24 is for the field. The models I am making are of dimensions that would require modification to 50% of the components. I think a script for segmenting the faces and random push pull is the ticket. Either you have an old version of TT_Lib2 - or you have an outdated IE. (I think it's an outdated TT_Lib2 you have.)

If there is a lot of geometry, you have to wait a longer time, even if SketchUp is not responding. Or does SketchUp itself crash?

It seems importing an skp file as a component requires user interaction, namely to place it somewhere (Trimble?!?!). Try this: model = Sketchup.active_model file = "C;/skp_files/example.skp" Sketchup.open_file(file) model.export(file.sub(/\.skp$/, ".dae"))

The usual reason plugins don't load correctly is because they haven't been installed correctly. Go back to the first post of the thread and read the instructions. Make sure you've installed the plugin correctly.
