When you import in SU you have an Options button in the file dialog. From there you must select the unit the imported file is it. SU does not detect the correct size.

I think you have to use an administrator account to be able to authorize SU.

    Hi Anssi - or others.
It's been a while - but still have the same problem. I'm also an administrator on my office iMac. Then why can't I be allowed to insert my license number??
I really hope for some help, since I have a big project this week...
    Thanks in advance

Thanks for the assistance. Sorry if I have caused a disturbance, the problem is now fixed. It was an issue on our end and has nothing to do with SketchUp. So sorry for the false alarm 😳 . Thanks again, this forum is always a great help.

I just noticed that in another model I have, where I had imported geometry from a DWG, multiple definitions had the same name.

This is not an answer, but I had this happen when I had a USB pocket storage device plugged in during an autosave.

    What 3D PDF exporter plugin?

But anyhow, missing all the exporters is definitely a weird thing. Have you tried to reinstall SU?

Don't be too happy yet. This means that your graphic card does not support OpenGL and your machine will perform slower with bigger/more complex models.

Hopefully a driver update can help but maybe you even need to get a better card eventually.

    another couple of points

1 - in model info/components adjustments regards shading other components don't save and it reverts to the original position. I've tried everything to make it stay to where I want it set but no way.

the tab in windows start bar doesn't show the current model - for example you open the program an it reads untitled. You then load a program called Model 1 and work on it yet the tab still reads untiled.

I have come to a method which works fairly effectively around the gaping holes (for me) in the native SUfree print-to-scale functions:

    Working method:

zoom extents to page border (after creating same to match desired paper size at chosen scale) set printer as PDFCreator or similar; set paper size to arch E or other as appropriate to get it all on one page, in spite of SU perform print preview at desired scale; use draft quality for quick check proper paging if correct, repeat but set to HDR quality; print to (create) PDF trim white excess surround in result with PDFCropper or similar resulting PDF can be hard printed by Acrobat or other PDF program and is what SUfree should offer or clearly disclaim: print to scale on a chosen paper size

In fairness to Google SketchUp staff. I have to report that Vray v1.5.05.30 was the culprit. After I uninstalled it. I have had no more problems, with error messages, when SketchUp is closing.

    Very easy and working solution.

    http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7programs/thread/321fe20a-ecc6-469e-93a4-b640f39c05b5

I believe I've found a registry fix that may resolve your issue. Modifying REGISTRY settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of REGISTRY settings can be solved. Modifications of these settings are at your own risk.

Before you make changes to a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy, of the key or subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location you specify, such as a folder on your hard disk or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to undo, you can import the backup copy.

1.Open the Registry Editor by clicking the Start button , typing regedit into the search box, and then pressing Enter.β€Œ If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.Locate and click the key or subkey that you want to back up (in this case HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control).

3.Click the File menu, and then click Export.

4.In the Save in box, select the location where you want to save the backup copy to, and then type a name for the backup file in the File name box.

    5.Click Save.

Once you've backed up your registry, you should see a key named RegistrySizeLimit. The default value is 5d00000. This needs to be changed to ffffffff.

When you've made the change, reboot the system and try to install your software again.

Ok, first thing I'd do is do a clean install using 9.10 and start over. There were a LOT of improvements in 9.10 over 9.04 that solved SU compatibility issues... Including video driver updates, etc. Don't do an "upgrade" as it tends to leave some of the old libs and files around, messing things up. Ask me how I know...

Your WINE is the latest I'm aware of. It "should" load the ia32 libs for you by default, but you can always check using Synaptic. You HAVE to have the ia32 libs because even though you're using WINE, it relies on some 32-bit libs to interact with the LINUX environment. About the only thing I've loaded as "extras" in WINE using winetricks were a few fonts and a couple of MS runtime libs.

FWIW, I run Xubuntu 9.10 64-bit with an Intel driver, SU 7.1, Twilight Renderer and SketchyPhysics all under WINE 1.1.39 without any issues at all so I know you should be able to as well...

    Cheers.
