Blinking Sketchup

Hi Guys,
I just got a new laptop, but when I downloaded sketchup sketchup starts to blink, the toolbars can't be clicked and the viewport becomes extremely laggy. Usually restarting sketchup fixes my problem, but today it's different. restarting didn't worked at all. I'm not sure if it's an openGL problem or a sketchup problem, but when I tried using sketchup 5, all goes well.

Have you ensured that you have turned on Hardware Acceleration under Preferences?
And have you updated your graphic card drivers?

Yes I did turn on hardware acceleration in preferences, and I'm downloading the drivers now.
