I bet that nanny duty wasn't all that unenjoyable. That table looks nice. I'll be interested to see some photos of the finished product. What kind of wood will you use. There is a lot of Thos. Moser stuff in the warehouse but at least most of it is put there by them. Actually, I drew and posted the first 65 or 70 pieces that were posted for them. They've expanded it since then.

Good catch, Jean-Franco. It shows a minor shortcoming with the original plan. The front and part of the sides of the lower case have an applied molding along the bottom. The plan calls for the molding to be made from a 1-in. x 1/8-in. piece. But that molding interferes with the way the legs fit into the case. So for the purpose of the model, I decided to ignore the bad fit. If I were building the highboy for real, I'd add thin pieces around the blocks where the legs fit. And thanks, John Msrk Power, for the nice words about the escutcheons. I modeled them after drop pulls offered by Horton Brasses. They were the closest I could find to the ones sketched in Margon's plan. dh

Post in the tool's thread... Pilou will reply... It's quite easy to edit a simple .rb script like this [using A plain-text editor] and change prompts etc into another language... PS: Please don't double post.

Don't be too hard on my good friend Dave R. His comments are always well-intentioned and most helpful. No worry that he'll give me a complex of any kind. (My Napoleon complex is a pre-existing condition.)

Thank you! I suspected this may be the issue but was unfamiliar with the scale tool. I successfully scaled the template up, extruded it, and brought it back to it's original size. Thank you very much for the advise and quick response! This is a wonderful forum!!! John Mark

I forgot to mention - tripped across a little trick for Maxwell. In that chest render -it is sitting on a mirror. To get the mirror effect,in SU,change opacity of material from 100% down to 98%. In Maxwell just leave material character at auto & roughness high- it still gives mirror effect.

Thank you Jeff! This completely solved the problem. I am going to revisit the radial bending video on You tube to see if there is something I have forgotten, but in the meantime, This works beautifully! In addition, it doesn't mean redrawing components. I am particularly amazed that It left the scribe lines I put in intentionally. This is a wonderful program, isn't it? thanks again. P.S. I have attached a photo of the chair without the lines this time! John Mark Power [image: 9I6E_JohnWarnerChairwithbentbackcoloredtilted.jpg]

Wow Pete, that looks great. Nice tease on the plugin. Artisan 2 perhaps? Here's a quick UV mapping with the last model. Quick export of half the chair via Whaat's UV Tools, into 3ds Max. Converted to Edit Poly, Ran Unwrap UVW modifier. Selected all faces, ran a pelt map procedure followed by a relax by face angles. Back into Sketchup via UV Tools gateway. Still a bum seam down the middle, but if cushions are added, it's a non-issue. [image: EEZP_WickerPeltMap.jpg] WickerPeltMap.skp

Maybe something like this: http://www.amazon.com/John-Sterling-BK-0103-22-300-Pound-Capacity/dp/B0009SUWEW/ref=sr_1_12?s=hardware&ie=UTF8&qid=1333217520&sr=1-12 I just think to be safe, use no less than three brackets like this for the length of the table. It would be preferable that the horizontal arm reach at least 1/2 the width of the table from wall to front edge. Those fasteners have to resist pullout from Aunt Bertha, or, perish the thought, Uncle Bubba.

For anyone who might be interested, I have attached a model with the finished propeller. Now if I had gcode for it I could cut it on my DIY CNC router. Steve Finished10X6Propeller.skp

It would help greatly if you posted your model or portions thereof so we know what you are really trying to do. Otherwise it is a guessing game

I do this ALL the time. I am constantly gobsmacked that nobody seems to use the most obvious tool for the job which is Fredoscale. It works on several levels for this kind of alteration which is so perfectly suited to furniture manufacture that anybody who uses SU for furniture design and does not use Fredoscale all the time needs their head examined. [image: iqTk_standardhooterstable.JPG] I manufacture tables for Hooters in SA- this is my model of a standard high table which comes in a variety of sizes depending on restuarant. [image: dkNv_fredoscale.JPG] Resize all the relevant components in the table without changing the ones which should remain as they are. Ie. the edging on the top, the leg section width, the corner rails, the overhang of top to frame. [image: KgGL_voila.JPG] I the use cut list plugin to get a 100% accurate cut list of this table which is sent to the machine shop with one click. I challenge anyone with whatever software or method to accurately alter a cut list for a table to a new dimension in fewer steps and with as complete accuracy! Fredo has simply changed my life. This is just one of the many ways the tools can be used- hope you go download it and start using now. And also make use of the very handy donate button in his sub menu

Years ago, I mean many, I worked for an engineering and architecture firm that designed the original "Inn of the Mountain God's" for the Mescalero Apache tribe in New Mexico. The Tribal chairman's wife had some ideas she wanted incorporated into the window drapes. To mock up the design we wrapped a piece of 3/4" plywood with canvas and silk screened the design onto the canvas surface. The canvas shrank so tightly that the plywood broke. Admittedly, we were prototyping and experimenting, but consider shrinkage when the adhesive meets the material and don't underestimate the power of shrinking cloth.

@dave r said: I understand about the unique leg now. A close look that the crossing of the two stretchers is revealing. Almost like real woodwork..
