I swear I took a million photos, at least one of each person. But as I'm going through them, I see that I missed a LOT of people that I thought I had. ALSO, name tags?!, worthless. They are all covered up, turned over, or taken off. almost every one of my photos has no visible name tags in it I was really counting on those to help me rememeber names. So a HUGE apology to people whose names I've forgotten - many of whom I spoke with at length about SketchUp or life or anything in between. Day 2 photos are currently uploading, I'll post them shortly.

Of course, I went out for a cigarette. Then made to the gate just fine. Was also walking about a little to see if I can find you but then Heathrow is pretty large, too. Anyway I also arrived home (Pécs) at around the same time you.

Thanks to the iClone demo - I have a couple! I totally expected to see photos of everyone at the demo. This is pretty cool.

Yes this is what we're talking about> the material folder and the useless preset materials are rebuild whatever you do upon restart/reboot of the software....I wonder if we could get an option to get rid of them for ever so we can choose what folders we want and what is inside... By the way the biggest pain is the slowness of the material pannel when u reach 30+ materials in each with 200 kb images ( small)so slow it becomes unusable...has it progress in the SU 8 version ? N.

Great pics Chris! You can see the excitement splatting of my face! Although finally have a descent beer (stella) can also have to do with that To the mods: maybe it's a good idea to have some kind of after-basecamp topic in which you can put all the links to pictures etc? NB. back at working place, jetlag kicks in

@chris fullmer said: Perhaps the real time relfections are? Most game engines can do realtime reflections. Either "real", meaning a camera that records the view and projects a texture on the reflective surface in real time, or reflecting a prerendered cubemap which is lighter on your gpu and is what I've used for reflective materials in my Unity apartment visualisation. The mirrors are "real" reflections: http://www.govisit.se

I remember once seeing an impressive example of what hdr is capable of. The example hdr image was a lit light bulb. (The image in that example was created from a set of photos each taken with a different exposure. My understanding is that the technology has developed with some cameras now capable of creating the hdr image in one shot). Because of the wide dynamic range in the light bulb image it was possible to adjust the image in software until the logo printed on the end of the bulb could be seen! Wikipedia is a good place to learn about the technology: "The wider dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight". I'm always facinated by the optical illusions these things create. When it's in it's horizontal spin, which way is it spinning? [image: decca.gif]

I think I will change the word 'forum' to 'help desk'. If forum has more of a social con nation, then 'help desk' may sound more professional. (The thread was originally started to ask if it was ok to provide a forum for support.) For the record, we immediately responded to the original query and asked for a .SKP file so we could try to reproduce the problem. We received a file, and have reproduced the problem. However, with the time pressures oh the SketchUp Basecamp and the long weekend we may not be able to resolve the problem until next week. @unknownuser said: there's somewhat of a mixup in this thread though.. the thread is basically talking about right vs. wrong in posting emails on a support forum.. the customer complaint has nothing to do with that though. (if i'm reading it correctly) he's saying " i paid for this [...] product and i want the [...] attention i feel i deserve.. i demand some [...] help by you, the owner and/or company representative.. not some [...] [...] on a [...] internet forum" i don't think he/she really cares that his email was made public.. he's bummed that he feels he's being ignored (and hey, maybe rightly so.. but i don't know all the particulars to say that as fact) [edit] - it's like buying a computer that won't boot then asking the company for advice on dealing with it but they tell you to go ask someone on the internet how to fix it.

@unknownuser said: His identity wasn't a secret after the inquest into Richard Hammond's crash anyway. It wasn't definitive. Its a sure thing now. He could have said the service he provided to the BBC was just the stunt driving such as in the Evo challenge and the parachute-into-car challenge where you actually see his face (hang on, i thought the stig doesn't have a face??) one more series?? oh dear. guess they will be immortalized on channel Dave anyway.
