Interesting topic with lots of ideas pouring in. Even so, as I scan down the page, if the preceding post had an image, my thought process would have flowed smoothly into it. So, I think we should encourage posting of screen shots, so that basic information is visually available in the forum page itself. It sounds like you have access to GIS software if you're using .shp files, am I right? If so, have you tried ArcScene? I've had decent results using SU to create my 3D structures and bringing them in as symbols. Let me know if this is the case and I can dig up a link to the workflow I used. Where in Phoenix? I lived there for a long time and did a lot of work in the utilities biz.

The first key is sales...someone has to contact and sell the idea to the companies. Finding competent modelers would be the easy part. I think this would be an excellent opportunity for an "educated" salesman. I found this very interesting when a client sent me the link a few months ago. Sweets has been slowly dying for years because of the internet, now the internet(Google) partners with them...? (Wonder what will evolve? :`)

I once spent a while on the road as a musician. I had a chance to look at the drawings for a large church with a pit. There was a completly different set of drawings for the sound room or pit room (the whole room). The builder I met said it was like painting...every surface and every object had to be created with a sound surface or shape and there was quite a palette of designs available depending on the default sound they wished to create. After that there where a set of movable baffles and texture drapes that could be used to change the sound all of these themselves created to a sound recipe of some sort depending on what the client wanted to be able to achieve. It struck me that his paint analogy was a great one. I know it was a very expensive proposition and this guy was a specialist at creating sound rooms as he called them. P: Isaac
