I like this topic. I have had several discussion with several different people about this very thing. I really love a quick sketch for dumping an idea, I would love to be able to sketch better and faster than I currently do. I'm really taken in by the quick sketches of an idea, they have a certain quality about them that leaves some to the imagination and at the same time very informative. This topic made me think of a book an associate of ours wrote called Rapid Vis Toolkit which is a great book for helping to understand how to quickly visualize ideas and also the organization of ideas. Pretty fun stuff! Edit: I still need to read the white papers, they look informative.

Wow Prodigiua, if that is what happened, that's incredible! Heck, even if it was a piece off a regular aeroplane that's amazing. Either way I guess you're extremely lucky it hit your leg and not your head .... or extremely unlucky it hit you at all!

yes - but a concrete verandah (porch) is not the same as a timber one. Must be at least 12' wide, preferably 15'

Thanks, rhankc! It seems this is the site of a SketchUp reseller...I think. It seems to me that @Last/Google should have copyright on both images and text, if I don't. I never really understood how that happened...but Aidan Chopra told me at 3D Basecamp that they were using the English version of this on pamphlets sent out to architecture schools. Oh well, who cares?...it was a long time ago. I'll have to add this to my resume in some creative way..."projects profiled on Dutch, Portuguese, and English web sites" or something. LOL! Well today's training was all Qi Gong and speed drills...no heavy kicking. Alan - I also find that starting the day with breathing exercises sets a very good foundation. And like many things, I agree that they are almost completely in the mind first. Mental imagery is extremely important regardless of what activity. Susan - What? You wouldn't want to sit in a closed door meeting with a sweaty, bloody person for a few hours? Yes, there is a shower here...which is good. Many folks in this office ride bicycles in the canyons at lunch and they come back pretty sweaty! Eric - yeah, I guess that's not too helpful, but it is a snapshot of my days. I will look up some more helpful topics and post them when I have time. This is really only a tiny set of training activities that I do, however it's about all I have time for during the busy work day. I will add to this thread as I get a good routine going...I have a jump rope training routine that is a bit easier for others to adopt, so I'll post that when I get some time. The main thing I find is to be creative and more naturally. I am not a big fan of machines that limit one's range of motion. Stay active everyone! ...as they say, use it or lose it! Wink Cheers, CraigD

way way back when i was graduating.. i sent out my resume and a mini cd with a portfolio in html...that worked 'ok'.. now i think you'd be more successful because of all the great universal formats out there... swf, pdf, etc.. now i just have a pdf portfolio that matches an 8.5x11 physical portfolio i have.. i'm sure youv'e got nothing to worry about..but yeah, always good to be prepared.. friend of mine just got let go..and they made him leave right then and there..he had no time to collect any work or any contacts or anything..so he's pretty stuck..... so always be prepared Wink

James, One trick I use since I use SU more than Illustrator is to rough out artwork in SU and then export into Illustrator and finish it there. Will only be helpful if your logo is mainly line work and not photographic.

Have a look at both Hypercosm and eDrawings, AFAIK they have some functionality that is like (or close to) what you are describing.
